For proper understanding of the error meainig it is necessary to obtain a Subcode of the error by pressing START at the moment of displaying error. E7-02 and E7-16 means Laser unit problems, E7-01 problem with memory, E7-10,11,12 Scanner problems Posted on Aug 16, 2016 -2017
with such error displayed press the print button, the machine shows another sub code, if it is 11 or 12 means a trouble with the scanner section. to fix take out the glass ,clean the white strip left, the lamp reflector and mirrors, open the lens cover (5) screws, clean the lens and CCD. if the subcode is 16 a trouble with laser
Error E7-06 means Image data decode error. This appears due to Image expansion error. It has been caused due to MCU PWB abnormality or USB cable trouble Try using a different USB cable. If this doesn't help then try the reset procedure---
Sharp ram clear -- Press function 9 * 8 # 7 then # or * until display reads memory clear, then press start. Note the other maintenance mode options displayed on the screen when pressing # or *.
That has to do with the laser unit and/or the white shading plate.
First remove the platen glass and clean the white strip on the bottom side. BE CAREFUL FOR THE GRAY OR BLACK LINE ON THE STRIPE IF YOU WIPE IT WITH A SOLVENT AND REMOVE THE LINE YOU ARE DONE. If the unit is making a whining noise it is probably the laser unit polygon motor.
E7 codes deal with the optical scanner unit and or the laser unit. It could also be the lamp in the scanner unit. The E7 is the main code. There is a sub code associated with it. To view the sub code hold down the start button. Below is a list of specific codes and their meanings:
E7-02: LSU trouble E7-10: Shading trouble (Black Correction) E7-11: Shading trouble (White Correction) E7-12: Shading Trouble E7-16: Abnormal laser output
If it is a laser (LSU) issue then the LSU may need replacing. If it is a shading error the first step is to remove the platen glass carefully (with the power off because the inverter board). There is a thin white strip on the bottom side of the platen next to the slit glass. Clean this white strip with a soft cloth and a small amout of isopropyl alcohol. Dust on the optics can also cause shading reference errors so gently blow off the mirrors with canned air.
Perform the following key procedure to reset error:
"#" key, Interrupt key, "C" key, Interrupt key
"1" key, "4"key
Start key, "CA" key.
See if unit cycles and comes back up. If not turn off and then back on the main power. If error reappears on site technical service may be required.
