Depends on the camera. Most cameras set on auto that multi flash is only to make sure that the sensor inside is getting the right amount of light. What type of camera is it?

First remove lens and set M mode. Push release button. You will see mirror up/down and motor running sound. If you can see these thing, then you have defective camera. Let me know more detail. thanks and best regard!

I have a Canon Power Shot A720. Outdoor photos are beautiful. Indoor photos are always grainy/blurry...a lot of noise. I have tried the ISP feature but there are only two choices... 1. Auto or 2....

Hi Usually outdoor picture are good within small compact camera. They designed like that. But now your unit just have flash pcb defective. When flash function work, your picture will be good indoor. Regarding your flash unit would be brown fuse or replacement of flash unit. It is 50 and 50 chance. Your local repair shop would charge around $35 to 95 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

Hey Lackster,
Error 5 is a problem with the flash. Long story short it thinks there is an external flash attached even though the mechanical pop-up still works. It is repairable.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you.

Hello there,

You must have set the camera to Macro. Can you try adjusting the camera's dial to AUTO. Or if your camera has no dial, try to look into the shooting mode settings. If this does not work, please give me the make and model of your camera.

Please let me know. Thank you for using FixYa and Merry Christmas.

Sony CYBER -shot DSC-w190 does not flash when taking picture although flash auto on

It will only flash when there is not enough available light when in AUTO flash mode.
To flash no matter what, go into the camera setting and select that choice.
Normally something like demand flash or a symbol that looks like a lightning bolt. Then it will flash every time. That does use more battery power though. By the way, I like that setting better too.

Certainly sounds like the mirror is stuck or even been dislodged.

You probably have "bracketing" turned on. In your menu settings, search for bracketing and make sure it is off.

Flash button won't select mode.

you cannot set anything on auto mode! The camera sets itself automatically. try taking shot(AutoMode)in dimlit area or no light at all. If it's taking shots and flash isn't firing, your flash bulb is already busted! I suggest you buy a separate flash unit (they cost the same as replacing parts and service fee), a cheap one is comparable or works the same as the costly one, if you know how to set up on manual mode ( they call it compose or advance or creative mode!)

Flash pictures too blue - optio 750z - help?

Try playing with the exposure compensation lever. Turn it down a few notches when you use flash. I do that all the time to prevent over exposure Or you can set the flash compensation in the setup.
