Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have two PNY Attache flash drives. One is a 1G, the other is a 2G. On both, after several months of use, when I try to save changes, a pop-up tells me I cannot save the changes because; File name or path does not exist or File is being used by another program or Workbook trying ti save has the same name as a currently open workbook. None of which is true. I have also tried using the saving as propmpt, I then get a message that the drive is full. Again, not true. On the 2G I have used less than 3%. HELP!! Thanks, Penny Williams

There aint any logical reasons for these messages apart from being the virus activity...kindly scan you hard drive (full scan) and try the same things again.

Could you please go online and in a search engine type "MAX RAM E-Machines (here put your model #)." Pick a link that secribes your maxi,um ram and if it's only 2GB you'll have your answer. If the max is higher there should be instructions on how to set the computer to acess and show the RAM.

Pny Optima Attache Flash Drive suddenly locked

look for a slider on the flash drive, I had a pny flash drive that had a slider that when enabled would protect the flash drive from accidental erasure or modification of the files.

I plugged in my PNY 4 gb 2.0 Flash Drive into my computer. I saved some photos to this source. Now that I am finished, do I just remove the flash drive or is there something I should do with the photos...

the photos are saved their now, simply remove the drive, but first go to the bottom right corner of your screen and find the icon that says safely remove hardware.

Pc beeps five times when swtched on

PC beeps are usually memory-related problems. make sure you are using the right memory for your computer. the specs should be a DDR2 DIMM 240 pin PC2-3200. what specs do you have?
also do you have two 1G memory sticks or just one 2G memory stick? it may be that your computer doesn't accept a 2G memory stick but rather 1G memory sticks. good luck.

I have an 8 GB PNY Attache flash drive that can be read by a Windows XP operating system but not on a Mac OS X operating system. The problem is even more confusing because a Mac that can run both Windows...

You may have the drive formatted in a way that the Mac cannot read. If you go to your "My Computer" in XP, find your drive, right click on it, look for something that says either NTFS or FAT32. If it's NTFS, the Mac won't read it.

You can copy files off the drive and then reformat it, also with a right-click in that My Computer menu. Format to FAT32. FAT32's major limitation will be no files over 2gb each.

There is free software out there that will -try- to read and write NTFS drives. It worked for me, but killed my brother-in-law's Mac.

Drivers

Go to ADD HARDWARE and try to force the install.

Just so you know, Optima Pro Attaché USB 2.0 Flash Drive was designed with Windows Vista in mind, and works in conjunction with new SuperFetch (intelligent caching) to enhance system performance for quicker startup and windows multi-tasking.
But it's also compatible with most PC/MAC laptop and desktop computers with available USB 2.0 port (Backwards compatible to USB 1.0).

I need to find out how many pictures can be stored on a 1GB PNY attache usb flash drive cuz i have like 20o on there now and it says it's full

It all depends on the size of the pictures, if you have 200 on there now then they are likely to be around 5 Mb each. Try reducing the resolution of pictures taken, they won't be as big.  You can also use a program like Gimp to reduce the size of your photos:

It is a great free image editor very similar to Photoshop. If you can reduce your photos to 1 Mb or less you can hold over 1,000 pictures on your 1 GB flash drive.
