It looks like the lamp is getting to the end of its life span. Most lamps on these and many projectors last about 2000 hrs and once they are getting near their end; the timer is setup to warn you about it.

Whats the limit on charge time for a GPX TD730 Portable DVD/TV?

Consult the manual for sure but usually theres a light that will be red or flash while charging and be solid when fully charged. A good rule of thumb is drain the batter6 as close to 100% as possible as often as possible and charge for 12 hours. It has a smart charge system in the unit that do3snt allow overcharging but you can kill the battery by using it while plugged in all the time

My Denon DVM-1800 says no disc what do I do?

I have had the same thing happen with my blu-ray. I have tried cleaning the disc; the lens, occasionally with success. flashing the bios. also known as update of the system [can be done online {if equipped} of mine also has a usb port {download the correct file to a USB drive and re-power DVD with the drive in place}]. if these things don't work try manufacturer tech support. I had mine replaced because it wpould NOT flash. good luck.

Was the tv working before you replaced the lamp? if it was then make shure you have reinstalled the new lamp and the door exactly as removed, there is a disconect switch on the door that has to close when the door is reinstalled,or sometimes the ballast may go bad at the same time.Hope tha t will help you fix it.

Philips DVD750VR stops recording at exactly one hour each time, then flashed error 1.

change your recording settings on your recorder timer. You have to choose the quality of the copy and the recording time in your set up before you start recording. mine varies from half hour to 6 hours.

If the TV goes off completely, then is usually a faulty power board.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1Theinternal circuits are jammed because of electrostaticcharges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage readby the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started theprotection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrongvoltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in, starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

On LCD Payparticular attention at inverter and power board, power board can beinspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with amultimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need toread voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.

Won't turn on

Well, I echo what the Blimpy complaint is. The unit is less than two years old, and has probably less than 100 hours of usage. When it first failed to operate properly, I pulled that tiny black plastic plug out of the back and could see a red light on. I inserted a casette and while it cycled the tape into its "play" position, that was the last sign of life. Not even the red lamp glows now. My computer tec, who allso repairs TV's, removed the cover to ascertain that the fuse was not blown- it's not, nor can I extract the tape which I do want to do, no matter what. The unit is "as new". not even dusty inside, no kids, no pets, nothing ever touched it on its safe perch. This model was one of the more expensive one available at the time. So, best guess: Is it worth fixing? probable cost? Time is not a factor. You can call me at (510) 220 6415.
