Did you try with temperature setting to the minimum?
Normally the machine needs to heat the water at programmed temperature before starts, it fails to do it because some issue on the heating system it would not start....
Error Code 05 is a NTC fault, either open circuit or shorted.
If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "E05" error code will be displayed.
Possible Causes / Procedure:
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check the water temperature sensor. Check connections to the water temperature sensor.
3. Check resistance of heating element, if present on this model. (abnormal = infinity).
Replace failed component. It could be the sensor or the temperature control module (NTC module).
Most washing machines do not heat water, they merely let the hot water into the wash tub that comes from your house hot water heater.... when selecting warm, hot and cold water will be mixed together to get warm or when selecting cold.. only the cold water is allowed into the wash tub.. Please provide brand and model number of machine so I can tailor a reply toward your specific washer...
all hoover machines spin in a clockwise direction the fact that you say the machine only washes in an anti-clockwise direction is a good indication that the reversing switches have failed (these provide the switching to drive the motor in either direction) if your machine uses a mechanical type programme timer this has failed if it it is a processor controlled machine it will be the motor drive card will need to be replaced either way not a diy task
Trouble shooting a washing machine is easy but you have to know the sistem first if the washine machine take water wwell but dont do nothing eals could be a couple of things. The water level switch send curent to the water selenoids when the maching is empty then when the level of water reach the selected level the presure of the water active a presure swithc and the curent go to the timer there the timer send the curent to the motor, as you can see there are a procedure that you have to know to repair a washin machine and some instrument to trace continuity and curent warning disconect the machine frome ac outlet befor service .....good luck and rate me if you survive this riskey adventure...
