Question about Sony NWZ-B103FBLK MP3 Player
My mp3 player is just not playing anything anymore but the PC does recognizes it and it opens normally when connected to PC.. but i wanted to use it as an mp3 player. I resetted it a couple of times but it did nothing to fix the problem, then i reformatted it.. it is empty now and the PC recognizes it as a USB flash but not as a Sony WALKMAN!.. I turn it on, the label "Walkman" appears and then it turns automatically off.
I was hoping i can download the related software online to get it started again as it was before.
Please help.. i only bought it 2 days ago..
I had the exact same problem with my girlfriends sony nwd-b105 mp3 player. I fixed it by downloading the firmware version 1.2, which can be found here at the sony support link below.
- Backup your mp3 files
- Make sure your mp3 device is NOT plugged in
- Run the firmware executable
- When it asks for it plug in the mp3 device
- Check option: format data area
- Press Start
- When finished, take the mp3 device out and press the power button
- If everything went well it is creating a database again and will function correctly as usual
- Copy your mp3 files back to the mp3 device
- Enjoy your music again!

I had a similar problem and used solution #2 above with a twist. It still didn't recognise it when I installed it... but when installed it to the USB socket with my finger on play button.. Bingo! :D Thanks all

SOURCE: BOOT ERROR
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
