You could use fine steel wool to smooth out scratches. If the original finish was glossy, spray plate with light coats of clear acrylate

Try pressing the Reset Button, if that does not fix it take it to the repair shop. If you do not have experienc you can do a lot of damage.

Technics SU-G75, No Speaker Output, Headphones Work. So I woke up this morning to find that my roof leaked ...onto my laptop and stereo. I love this amp, bought it new with all accessories in 1993,...

The fact you have output from the headphones is a good sign. It shows the main amp is working fine. However water has clearly got inside something and affected it. The best course of action is to trace back the wires from the headphone socket and see if there is a relay or anything that could get water in it. If you do find something, try applying warm air from a hairdryer. The alternative is to apply a soldering iron to the solder conections of the device. This should get rid of any water inside. If all else fails you might have to replace the relay. But I would try a spray of Servisol first. Just in case some dust has got inside or mineral salt from the water.

I am trying to locate a replacement SVI 3023 IC, as used in Technics SA-R230L Tuner/Amplifier. Thanks, Dave.

The SVI3203 is no longer available. If you can find an SVI3205 (it too is no longer available), you can substitute. Where are you located?

The amp makes overload protiction while no sound

if the input signal is very low check output cables for good condition and no wires from cables touch the amp chassis--no touching between each cables-check each speakers one by one to isolate the trouble-if everything is ok and you still get overload protection you must pass it to service center.

Relay clicking, and sound produced intermitently. Was doing this before, worked properly for a while, and now is acting up again.

check all your speakers cables and confirm it is in good condition no torn on it and no wire touch the chassis of amp-check your input device(mic-cd dvd)for good audio level(not too high)and connection cables are also in good condition.if all cables are ok-and no touching of wire to chassis-and audio level is not too high and you still have a problem you must ask for help from service center.

Fender Frontman 65r Grounding Issues

Hi,

It could be a grounding problem with your inputconnector.
There could be a bad connection between the jackinput and the faceplate/chassis.

Require potentiometer for old sansui amplifier. Sansui part number 46159900. This is the number on the edge of the potentiometer. Not sure what the ohmic value is.

You will have better luck finding it if you describe what control it is and what model it is from. Can you please update this with that info?

Thanks,
Dan
