My iron is an Elance 3100 GC 3135 I believe there is a problem in the the enclosed electronic board in the handle of the iron because there was moisture inside of it. Is it worth it to replace this part the number on the sticker is 01967LF DTHV 641F00404 Thanks Barry .

Try buying a whole new iron. If it's still under warranty Phillips may fix it. Otherwise it isn't worth the hassle.

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure power is on to the outlet,,test the outlet with desk lamp for to see if working. check the electrical cord, and check the thermostat + fuse inside replace if necessary.

I purchased a silicone heat protector for a pot handle and sewed it together with dental floss around the iron handle

i do believe is something wrong with the thermostat or the electronic board.That model i do believe(but i`m not sure) have a small circuit board controlling the temperature and the safety.Make sure also your thermostat handle is working properly because sometimes the connector between the handle and the thermostat can get bad and not adjusting the right temperature
