I fixed the problem with the machine not grabbing the paper.....I simply opened the main lid and then reached in and pulled out the triangular insert (DRUM?) and then when you look inside all the way to the bottom....you will see the rubber tongue that actually grabs the paper.....more than likely it will be dried out or dirty. If you clean it VERY carefully with a soft moist towelette maybe very little soap....it should clean back to grabbing again...of course I went another step forward and put Take Hold fingertip grip and massaged it into the rubber.......been working great ever since. Thicker stock I have to help with my finger.....but all regular stock should work just fine.....

Paper will not feed

Both paper tray and rollers are spring loaded.

If you have paper stuck in the feed area, it will not pick up paper.

Try removeing all from unit and power blowing the inside try area.

It will not feed the paper to start printing. It says that it is out of paper. How do I fix this?

Check the paper supply tray and look inside. I'm assuming it's a vertical feed - look down into it and check the take-up roller. Make sure it springs towards the paper as if it will roll and grab one sheet. Sometime the roller gets stuck - reach in and try to make it motion in both directions.

I have a Brother DCP 195c and it wouldn't take in other photo papers! I tried to print using the free brother photo paper and it's fine but when I use other inkjet glossy photo, it wouldn't take in the...

Your glossy paper is too smooth for the rubber rollers to grab it.
You need to wet the rubber rollers. Ever licked your finger in order to turn a page in a book? Same concept solution here.

Remove the paper tray. Take a look inside the space created where the tray was, and locate the rubber rollers. Lick your fingers, and use them to moisten the rubber rollers.

Reset printer and print again. Or try "un-smooth" the paper where the rollers grab it.

When i replace with new original 818 color and black/white ink cartaiges the ink status show as b/w full and color iswith"x" mark(no ink) and printer can"t take paper i also re load the driver software

If there is an "X" on the color cartridge indicator then there is a problem with it. If you have removed the plastic tape that covers the part that connects to the computer and you still have this problem then the cartridge is defective and needs to be returned to the store and exchanged for another that is good. Exchange the cartridge and install the replacement. This should solve the problem with the printer not recognizing a full color ink cartridge.

You mentioned that the printer cannot take paper. Please clarify what happens when you load the paper tray and try to print? Are you loading paper one page at a time using the external feeder or are you loading the paper tray full with paper before trying to print? If your loading page by page or filling the tray with only a few sheets of paper then try loading a bigger amount of approx 1/2" of paper. It is easier for the printer to grab paper when the try has a good amount in it. If it still will not load the paper when the tray is full and inserted correctly, please advise what happens when you try and print - exactly? Does the printer respond to the print command sent from the computer? Does it make attempts to load the paper and then fail and stop? Does it pick up paper and then show a paper jam? Does the printer do anything when trying to print from your computer? Answer these questions and I will help you solve this problem right now.

I cant get the machine to grab the paper and it says its out of paper, yet its not out of paper.

Hi, the Ip3000 has 3 different feeding trays...
make sure that the printer is trying to "grab" the paper in the tray that you have chosen to use in the printer properties box...
when you give the print command can you see the rubber roller moving to grab the paper in the top feeder tray???
if the roller that feeds the printer is not moving you may have accidentally changed the settings to grab paper from the bottom tray...the one right under the door that opens to let printed pages out of the printer...
the 3rd feeder tray is the DVD/CD printing tray...
I suggest that you look at the printer Properties for remedial action...
hope this helps you with your problem...
cheers

p.s.
suggest you place paper in the bottom tray before making adjustments to see if it is trying to grab the paper from there...

My printer won't feed the paper through. the spindle rolls but won't grab the paper in the paper feeder

One common cause of paper feed issues is a build up of dust on the printer's rear paper feed roller. This roller consists of a plastic axle white roller. This is located in the automatic sheet feeder and is referred to as the "Pick Roller." As dust builds up on the rubber rollers, they become less tacky and therefore unable to grab a single sheet of paper.
To prevent and/or cure this type of paper feed problem, these rubber rollers should be cleaned.

Unplug the printer's power cord and remove the paper from the automatic sheet feeder. Please remove the paper access door from back of the printer and clean the white rollers inside with a cloth dampened with warm water (be sure there is no excess water on the cloth as it may drip into the machine). After these are free of any dust, close the paper access door. Reload the paper and plug the power cord back in. The paper should then feed normally.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Turn the printer ON.
2. Press the down arrow button till the screen displays “Maintenance". .
3. Press the "Check" button.
4. Press the "Down arrow" button till the screen displays “Print Test Page.”
5. Press the "Check" button.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed.  If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed by itself. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.
If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

Laser jet HP 2600n

Before you print, check the printer settings and see if it is set to choose paper automatically. If it is try manually setting it to the tray 1 you mentioned. This may stop the printer from checking every time it is grabbing paper. Also try keeping the other tray slightly open which may automatically tell the printer to look right away at the other tray.

Hope this helps!
