Question about Kodak i 280 Path-Through Scanner
Black lines can be caused by dust on the plastic imaging guides. Some models use a philips screw, older models use a Torx screw to hold down the guides. If you remove the guides, blow it out but don't use canned air. Canned air can leave a propellent film on the mirrors inside. Use a hair dryer on cool, or a air pump blower from walmart ( for blowing up air mattresses).
1. calibrate your scanner using the Kodak calibration target (12x12). Sometimes a very white 8 1/2 by 11 sheet will work.
2. change your scanner threshold from "ithresholding" to (not sure if I remember it exactly ) but I think it's called "atp." I-thresholding is really agressive at darking your images up, but will also bring out any weaknesses in your camera ccd's.
