I purchased a prepaid music card from Best Buy. I have been unable to download any music despite the card showing redeemed when I put the pin number in. I contacted technical support and was unable to get any real help because the person I spoke with took forever to get my account up regarding the music card purchase. I am able to sign in, but I am unable to download music to my Zen MP3 player or burn a CD without being informed I have to pay to purchase the music. I am very disappointed in the Best Buy Digital Store. If shouldn't be this hard to download music when you purchased a music card. I go to www.bestbuy.com/bbymusiccard but do not receive any type of instructions regarding downloaded music.
I can't download any music-can't even get on the site-pretty lame!
I have a sansa 250 mp3 player. i recently just got a new computer. as i tried to download music onto my mp3 player a message kept popping up saying that i have to install new hardware. it tried to install something called mtp for my sansa. then it said that it would not be able to install because i do not have the installation cd. i did not need the installation cd when i first got this mp3 player. what do i do if i do not have the installation cd?
Thanks in advance

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these
steps: 1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store 2. Once you're in the
Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word
"purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen. 3.
Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From
there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and
it will download all the songs all over again.
first you'll need to download itunes to your computer. go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/ download itunes, on either Mac or PC. once you've download the program need to start an itunes account this requires a credit card. once you have started your account you can transfer misic from your computer or purchase music from the Apple store, or redeem itunes gift cards.
Download and install Itunes in your laptop http://www.apple.com/itunes/
After installation open Itunes, look to the left side of the page and find Itunes Store, then click on Itunes Store, then on the right top of the page click Redeem.
After you enter your numbers and letters then it will credit the amount of the card you redeemed to your account.
Go back to Itunes and download whatever music, videos, etc and it will be deducted from your total.
I hope this helped.

Music file problem:
Your music might not be compatable with your MP3 player.
If you are using it with mac and windows.
like you used mac to put the music on but you try to use windows to delete the files.
Mac uses a diffrent file system to windows.
Unfortunately Apple products are very proprietary, and Apple works very hard to keep people from using other software. I've seen several programs that you can purchase from places like Best Buy that replace the iTunes music software, but using that software will leave you unable to sync any applications or software updates. Good luck!
Yeah. Go to apple.com- click ipod plus itunes, and click download itunes. And its totally free to download it. Then you have to buy a card at the store, scratch off the silver part, go to itunes store, click redeem, enter in the code that you scratched off, and you are set to buy music, videos, podcasts, etc.
ps:if you run out of money on your card and you cant buy another one yet, or you dont have a card yet, you can make purchases thru a credit or debit card (which is why it asks for credit or debit card info in the beggining)
when you have successfuly downloaded iTunes, you can click on iTunes store and buy songs as you wish. you will either need a credit card or buy a card from your local walmart or any other store that sells iTunes gift cards. after you do so go to the iTunes store and click redeem in the upper right hand corner. good luck! please rate =]
Had the same problem - but with older Insignia NS-DV2G. Didn't want to buy a new bigger 4GB. Salesman at Best Buy today said I just needed a Macro SC card. Sold me a 2 GB. CAme home - downloaded new tunes, loaded it up in the Card reader and synced. Computer said everything went to the card fine. Turned on the Insignia and got same error as you - "Unable to format external memory". Huh? Thought maybe the memory was too much at 2GB. Had a smaller 256 macro card on hand. Reloaded music on that and stuck that it in Insignia. Same error message. Googled the problem and found your posts. Thought I was doomed. Drove the 20 miles BACK to Best Buy (read a total of 80 miles for two round trips) and two guys couldn't figure it out. Called for a third guy to come over and he turned the dial, pushed the button and all the new songs were there! Just like that. How in the world.............
With macro card inserted:
Go to SETTINGS.
Scroll to SYSTEM
Click on INITIALIZE
Click on YES.
If your device is too full, it wont have enough room to create the music database for the new songs.
Move some of your music off of the device onto the memory card.
Try to keep about 10MB free for each GB of music you have.
You can add to this question for further assistance.
Best of Luck.
