My gps is like is frosen and also dosen't get any signal and dosen't get download maps. It turn on but dosen't get to the main menu.

You use a program from tomtom wesite named tomtom home. Download to pcinstall it then connect device to pc using usb cable. The tomtom home program will list all updates available and install all free ones. Ensure you make a backup first. If you have accidentally selected the flight mode from the menu options this turns off the satelite receiver so check this setting also from the menu you can select the satelite network and see if there is a signal being received and how many satellites it is connecting to. It requires at least three to function and possibly will not work with less than five if there is none then a reinstall of the program will need to be done following instructions from web site on reinstalling the application. You must backup the device first as you cannot download a free map. Follow the website instructions and if there is still no satelite signals being received then its busted. From the main map screen the signal strength may be segn as a small icon like a volume icon. Press this and you also get signal information.

If you cant access even its menu, and all are fully frozen out, you have to contact the authorised service center to set it to its default stage. If you can access its menu option, you can set it a factory reset option there will make the set right. It is best to contact the service center, so that they can reinstall the software to it with a latest one. OK.
