Check first your power supply or source if no output voltage..if no voltage it is damaged try a new power supply...
second if the power supply is good the problem is in your player maybe thier is a damage or burn capacitor or transistor to be replace

I have the 1513-tdxb polaroid tv dvd combo. the dvd wont load. ive changed the batteries in the remote, but it still wont work.

1. Purchase or borrow a lens cleaner disc and try it first. You can find these things really cheap at any large department store. They usually get the job done well. However, you may need to clean the lens manually if the store-bought cleaner fails.

2. Remove the outer casing of the DVD player. Remove the screws that mount the top casing onto the bottom of the DVD player and slide the top casing off. This will expose the DVD deck, which houses the laser pickup lens.

3. Find the lens. The lens will be glass and under the DVD clamp. The lens will probably have a blue tint to it. If you are having trouble finding the lens, you could shine a light on the components and watch for the reflection.

4. Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the lens. Just a quick scrub will do. Dry the laser pickup lens with the other end of the swab.

5. Give the lens a few seconds to dry and replace the covering of the DVD player. Test the efficiency of the player. If necessary, repeat the process.

Let me know if this doesn't work and we can try other options to get it working.

Thank you for using Fixya and Good luck.

DVD will load disc, repeated clicking noises, then informs me that there is no disk, and shuts down the DVD player.

Your best bet is to go to web site " ShopJimmy.com " enter your model number and see if they have the dvd mech. available. You just don't try and repair those, not only Polaroid, but all that have them 99% of the time can't be repaired. Happy Hunting!!

i would take it in and have it repaired while its got a warranty on it...or take it back to the store you got it from and ask them to replace the set.

Magnavox mrv640-accidentally turned on progressive scan

Had exactly the same problem. You need to reset the DVD recorder to it's default setting. The default is "interlaced".

From the users manual.........

Switching the DVD Recorder
1
Disconnect the recorder's power cord.
2 Hold down the FF button (arrow pointing left) the front of the DVD Recorder while
reconnecting the power cord. 'PRO' (progressive scan) will appear
on the display.
3 If you want to switch back, repeat steps 1 and 2 . 'PRO'
(progressive scan) will disappear from the display. The DVD
Recorder is switched to 'Interlaced.'

The manual is at:

See page 12

It worked for me.

Cannot connect a VCR/DVD player to Zenith SY1959Y

you don't need a code for the vcr/dvd combo to work on your tv. You need to make sure you have hooked up the cables correctly. remember that the dvd can be hooked up with the component cabels and the vhs may need to be hooked up thru the tv cable hookup.

Dvd compartment will not open. I removed the back panel of TV to see if I could see what is in there and noticed the dvd compartment is it's own separate compartment. I didn't bother it any further, I...

Hi guys, or gals,
I took the TV/DVD combo to Radio Shack, the kid there, and I took the entire TV apart, which was what was needed to even get to the DVD compartment, we took the compartment apart and found that a small, rubber washer surrounding two gears, that work the opening and closing of the DVD player had dry rotted and snapped. I left the kid take my TV home to see if he could locate a washer for it. So now you know. Hope this will help y'all in the future. Suggest that people don't buy TV/DVDM Combo's. (-:

The dvd disk in my RCA TV/DVD Combo will not come out. This just happened as it has been working fine. The disk I put in was a home made burned DVD. Does that make any difference? What should I try to do...

the solution was to not just click the "eject" button, but to hold it down while waiting for the DVD disk to emerge from the TV. It then came out promptly. I guess there was not enough of a signal by just clicking it quickly. I came to this conclusion by experimen ting with all kinds of possibilities and this was the one that worked promptly.
