When you receive a text message while you're talking on the phone you can read your message without getting off by pressing the envelope button on the lower right side of the phone and the message menu with appear then click text messages
From the way it sounds, mine started doing this yesterday. Everytime i turn on the phone, theres just a backlight and nothing else. well the only way i noticed to get it to work, atleast until i can get a new phone is, to leave it slid up because it wont do anything if its closed or slid sideways. And while it slid up, I either have to call it from my home phone or recieve a text message. I'm not sure why but that made the screen come on so I could atleast check everything. It doesnt always work but it does most of the time. I hope this helps. Just play with and figure out what it takes to get your screen on. I'm not sure how to permanently fix it though.
That definitely is a battery issue. The battery is either Low Soc or it is a failed battery. Most batteries on PDA's usually fail within a year because of the immense amount of use the phone has and the majority of the time the batteries are smaller in a PDA. Take your battery to a service center if one is in your area or call your carrier and inquire about the warranty on batteries (usually 1-year).
If the entire phone still works (make and receive calls, recharges, etc), then you probably just need a new screen. Two basic options:
Buy the screen and do the replacement yourself. Usually about $50 or a little more (depends on your shipping and if they include the tools). You can find videos online for how to do the repair.
Have someone do the replacement for you. When my phone broke, the following place did the repair: http://www.mobile-device-repair.com. They had it fixed in under a week, did a great job, and it was just $75 total. A lot cheaper than buying a new phone and I didn't have to worry about screwing it up by doing it myself.
Master repoot the phone. You will loose all data, but you can recover the phone.
1. PRESS AND HOLD BOTH SOFT KEYS. 2. WHILE HOLDING DOWN SOFT KEYS, PRESS AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON, WAIT 3-5 SEC. (PHONE SHOULD POWER ITSELF ON BY DOING THIS) 3. RELEASE THE TWO KEYS SOFT KEYS. 4. WHEN SCREEN ON DASH LOOKS LIKE IT'S IN DOS FORMAT, PRESS SEND (GREEN ANSWER KEY)
