Can't remove the RAW Setting to keep just the JPEG option without RAW. It is set to RAW and the dial only scrolls through JPEG options. How do I get access to the RAW options to turn off RAW??

When on the image recording quality setting screen, use the main dial to select RAW (go all the way to the - sign on the left to turn off RAW), and use the multicontroller left/right to select JPEG settings. See page 116 in the manual.

Hi i brought ricoh kr5 i need to get flash for it where can i get that and i found at bottom of camera space for battries do i have to putbatteries to use it thanks

The KR-5 Super II is totally reliant on batteries in order to function. Use two SR-44 cells fitted with the + side towards the cover. LR-44's also work but will give slightly inaccurate meter readings. If you use slide film then avoid using LR-44's but if you use print film it's not really a problem.

The flash is just any standard, non-dedicated, automatic or manual flashgun. There are millions of them around, perfectly good and unused, so there's no need to pay for one. Just ask on your local FreeCycle or Freegle groups.

On the screen it shows ERR and what looks similar to a recycling sign and then it says MIN under that sign.... can you help??

Check to make sure the aperture ring on the lens is set all the way on the highest f number. (it's usually red)

That problem is in your manual's troubleshooting matrix.

Camera wont flash or take pics

GEORGE,
HAVE YOU TRIED TO GO TO THE MINOLTA WEBSITE AND ASK CUSTOMER SERVICE IF THEY HAVE MANUALS ONLINE? USUALLY YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE MANUAL FOR YOUR CAMERA. MINOLTA SHOULD ALSO HAVE A TECH SUPPORT SITE THAT MIGHT ALSO BE ABLE TO HELP. I HOPE THIS GIVES YOU A FEW IDEAS AS TO WHERE TO START. I WOULD TRY THE MINOLTA WEBSITE FIRST. IF I CAN HELP MORE, JUST REPLY TO:

Silly question re manual focussing

What you are looking at in the middle is called a split prism whilst it is good to determine focus you have found the one short fall.

You will notice that it gets worse with the longer focal length lenses, when you have the half black image, just try moving your eye around the viewinder up, down, left right, you will find that the half that is black may change, the black is caused by poor alignment of the eye in relation to the optical axis center of the viewfinder system.

Not a fault or problem as such just something to be aware of and try to work around it.

Here is the free link for the user manual if you need it; http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/film-cameras/film_mf_slr/xg_a/xg_a_manual.pdf These guys have a copy of the parts list for sale ($5); http://www.natcam.net/manuals.html Try this guy for a service manual; http://www.vikenk.com/minolta_manual.htm I think you are right about the seal issue - check there is no play in the door - most likely causes of it being loose would be a loose latch or worn hinge guides / bent hinge pins. Replace or tighten is hard to say from the info i could find, my guess is it will be much easier to tighten it than to find the spares, although many xg-as are advertised on e-bay "for spares". One way to test for sure is to put in new film, then tape the door shut as solidly as you can, and tape around the edges with black PVC electrical tape - see if this helps, if not, there may be a problem in the optics, possibly not worth fixing. There could feasibly be a problem with the shutter sticking slightly, or one of the plates of the aperture could be bent away from its neighbour. Have a look, be gentle. Only other thing I can think of is the film itself - was it good, new film you had the problem with? old film could feasibly show those symptoms, although unlikely, Hope this helps, please ask again if you need more info :)
