Maybe your emachine PC has a recover partition. When your PC starts, press DEL, F2, F10 or F12. (There may be a startup message for your PC). See if you can recover your PC to factory defaults using this method

Uninstall AVP and download AVAST! Free anti-virus and do a scan of your computer, that should help.

Emachines is very slow, takes forever to warm up

You may need to perform a virus scan, I would recommend downloading and installing Avast Anti-virus 5 free.

Click the download now button when the screen loads.

Register the product it is all free and update to the current day.
Perform a complete system scan.

It is possible that your computer is slowing down due to thermal throttling, whereby the computer slows down to produce less heat because it is getting too hot.

Especially if you have had this computer for about a year, dust prevents proper airflow, get it serviced by a computer technician. He/She will clean it out and get it back to it's new condition.

Remember that is this day and age one should have at least 2GB or RAM installed in your computer at the fastest supported RAM speed. DDR2 800 being the fastest DDR2 RAM and DDR3 1333 Being the fastest stock RAM.

All the best!

1.make your computer virus free , install a good antivirus and update it also.
2.scan your system to remove viruses, malvares,Trojans etc.
3.Clear registry entries with registry cleaner tools.
4.Install less soft wares on your computer to make it easy for computer

Have issues with desktop freezing up and or slowing after I changed power otions. It used to cut out all together. It is an Emachine T5048

You should check your fan isnt clogged up with anything.

If its still slow it may be a virus problem. Scan your computer .

If this still continues then re-install windows

Just bought a e-machine and on some games my mouse slows way down, why?

think of your emachine like an 'economy' car - it was cheap, and it doesn't respond very quicky when you step on the gas. 'some games' are demanding on the computer, and it cant keep up.

EMachines eMonster 500A Restore Disk

I suggest finding the specific drivers that he deleted. Typically, when a computer begins to get slow, either 1 of 3 problems occur. 1. The drivers are insufficiently up to date. 2. There's too much clutter on the hard disk, RAM, and CPU. Lastly, driver files and start up files get deleted. The best way to fix that slow problem is downloading the driver files.

Try going to the control panel>performance and maintenance>disk cleanup. After running cleanup run the defrag. You can also cleanup your internet browser by deleting cookies, temp internet files, & browsing history. See if this helps speed up the system. Hope this helps & please rate this solution fixya. Louder whirring noise when turning on computer

trumpjd,
Usually on startup the fans work a little harder then slow down. On newer computers they still have noticable fan noise. Most of what ou hear while the machine is running after start up is the power supply fan. When it starts to go bad you'll hear it all the time.
