When i turn on no sound comand

Once you have started yout tomtom, go into Change Preferences and observe the icon for the sound setting. This is on page 1 of 5. If the sound is set to be off, you will see a speaker image, with the legend Turn on sound underneath. Tap the icon, and this will turn the sound back on again. Hope this helps.

No sound

Some TomToms ( especialy early ones ) are reported to have faulty speakers. Its most likely this is the fault on yours. Another problem particular to TomTom one is the external speaker jack on the base of the TomTom. Thsi jack socket also acts as a switch to turn off the internal speaker when and external one is used. When a plug is inserted it opens 2 contacts and they colse again after any plug is removed. If these contacts have remained open or been bent or become dirty this will cause no sound out of the internal speaker. However , there are routes the TomTom circuit uses to get sound to the speaker. One is direct ...... This is how you hear the TomTom Drums sound ...and the other is for 'most' other sounds , via the external speaker jack.
This gives us a possible check on any report of faulty sound as follows.
If you hear the TomTom drums OK , then this proves the speaker is OK too. BUT , if you hear no further sounds after the TomTom drums then it will be almost certainly be the speaker jack socket thats at fault.

Good luck
