When i turned on my moms dell laptop, everything was green, i mean everything, what do i do?

This is a hardware defect. To find out which you must connect an external monitor (or a tv) to it and see how the image looks: if the image is still green then the video chip is defective and in this case you will have to replace the motherboard - very complicated and expensive, you'll be better off just replacing the laptop; if the image is normal then the connection cable between the motherboard and the screen is broken - to fix that you will need to dismantle the lid of the laptop. This is a job for a repair shop and it will cost you around $100.

Monitor rejects computer

I'm just guessing, but it could be that the resolution you are using on your MS-DOS monitor is not compliant with the new monitor you are trying to use. Check the supported resolutions of the monitor that you would like to use, and then make sure you set that resolution before switching monitors.

Monitor is bad for sure. Try another known good monitor on your computer and if the problem stops then you know for sure the original monitor is bad. Hope this helps.

It could be your monitor is fine. It simply goes to a cycle when its turned on and does not detect any signal coming from your CPU, it simply goes on standby mode (hence the darker image and orange/blinking light.) have you checked the computer (CPU) part?
