Dryer stopped working

Most times a dryer is dead is because of a air blockage of some sort causing a unusual buildup of heat inside while the dryer is in operation. On some maytag dryers (norge/admiral/monkeywards) the blower wheel tends to get loose and wobble. It cause overheating on top of the machine near the heater element. When the temp exceeds safe rang it pop the fuse which is about the size of a dime and located to the right of the heater element. Other maytag dryer have melting typ fuse mounted on or near the blower and outlet pipe. Check for ventpipes clogged with lint. Filter housings clogged with lint. I have several video I made that show where various dryer components are and what to look for HERE

Dryer not getting hot.

This is usually caused by a blown thermal fuse or thermostat. You can test either one with an ohmmeter. You can find their locations (as well as purchase replacements) at www.appliancepartspros.com

Maytag dryer PYE2300AYW will not start

Hi, It sounds like the fuse inside the fryer might be bad. Here is a picture of the fuse.

20f01c3.gif To locate this fuse, insert a flat blade between the top and the front panel. There are 2 spring clips that will release the top. The heater and fuse are on the top rear of the drum. The fuse you willneed to test is #5 in the picture. If the fuse shows an open circuit, it will need replaced.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Where is the thermal fuse located?

In the back of the dryer. Look for the coiled heaters and follow the lead wires back to the fuse.

Maytag Electric Dryer MDE308DAYW doesn't turn on at all when pressing the button

Since the vent was filled with lint I would check the High Limit termal fuse located on the front of the heater asm. It is best to replace the fuse and thermostat. These parts are part of a kit that can be purchased from your local supplier. The heater asm is located in trhe bottom left of the dryer. and looks like this
