I have 2 Alltech Lansing multimedia speakers w/subwoofer that I don't know how to hookup to my computer. I'm not savy at all when it comes to putting mechanical or electrical things together. Can somebody please walk me through the steps of getting them hooked up to my computer? Thanks in advance.

There are two wires out from the s/woofer, one goes to the power source, the other goes to the surround speakers. behind the s/woofer there should be an audio port/jack. a phono wire came with system connect one end to the jack and behind your system unit there should be two ports just like the ones behind the woofer, they both have icons beside them one icon is a headset while the other is a microphone, connect to the headset

I have an older altec multimedia 3 pc. computer speaker system my software has been damaged and I need drivers the subwoofer is a ACS160 and the speakers are ACS55

These speakers should work as long as your computer has the drivers for the sound card. I need to know what sound card you have, make and model of the computer, and the operating system; in order to direct you to the driver download. If you know of a computer with an operational sound card, test them on it. The speakers are passive devices - they don't need drivers to operate.

I just got a used set of altec lansing ADA745 computer speakers and can't get power to them. I have never seen computer speakers w/ two wires for input to the computer. I plugged the usual green colored...

That is the setup guide for the speakers.

The two wires plug into a cable that then that single cable plugs into the computer, this way you have sound coming out of the left and right hand speakers.

I am trying to hookup my AL subwoofer to my existing comp system.Inserting a wire jack into one of the comp spkrs and subwoofer shuts the sound off.?? It is a FMC0034326 Altec Lansings Subwoofer.Thanks.

You can't just do that. Your sound card needs to have a specific jack just for subwoofers. If you plug it into the speakers, the computer recognizes the subwoofer as a pair of headphones and routes all sound through it. Remember, a subwoofer is not a normal speaker. It only allows a frequency of extremely low sounds (a.k.a. BASS) and won't play anything that you would need a tweeter for.

No sound coming from ACS 48 Altec Lansing speakers

Hi janros123 - I don't know if this will help - I have a subwoofer ACS48 that needs satellite speakers (they are blown). Want to buy my subwoofer or sell your satellites? I will buy your broken subwoofer, too...thanks, and good luck! Greg illdooyoo at gmail dot com

I have Altec Lansing AVS 300 multimedia speakers with no power

Unfortunately the subwoofer supplies the power to the amp on the speakers, Once again I have the solution,
These speakers are factory molded so that the only way to open them is to break the factory seal
this can be done by sharply rapping the seam at the bottom of the speaker with a heavy screwdriver handle or something similar.
Now you need to supply power to the amp...If you do not have the subwoofer you will need a 4.5volt power supply, after removing the board from the casing find the red white and black wires connecting
the orange plug wire to it, Personally I removed the entire cord from the unit, shough you can splice in at this point if you desire.
Connect the white lead to your posative on your power supply by either splicing or soldering, connect the ground to the heat sink using the screw that is already there holding the chip to the sink. reassemble the speaker.....super glue... and you are now in business.

Connect Altec Lansing ADA745 to HD TV RCA output for home theater

It won't work like this due to this being a computer only speaker system. It requires the drivers to work with a computer & a Home theater does not recognize the format. Sorry.
