Question about Televison & Video

My phillips model # 50P8341 periodically shuts off on its own. When I turn it back on it plays for a little while then shuts off again.

    My tv turns itself off after like 30 to 60 mins. And the color is weird and 3d looking, And it has a arch on the bottom of the left hand side corner

The set is going into shutdown mode. does the power indicator blink when it shuts down. If so how n=many blinks does it blink?

Seems like it is overheating. Try cooling it down by using a fan to blow air into it (temporary fix). Make sure the TV is well ventilated and heat can escape (permanent solution).

Once again...you need the ssb Part# PH3912725871. Follow the instructions on the instructions that accompanies this part. Your main concern will to adjust the geometry.

My phillips 50p8341 tv has had several problems over the years 1st being the remote quit working now the tv is turning of and the light is flashing and won't stay on.


Chances are you will the small signal board. Donot confuse it with the small signal module. You will be replacing a board the size of a playing card. Part# PH3912725871. Follow the instructions that accompany this part. Mainly you will have to adjust the geomtry.

Power light always on but no pic


Make sure it is off when you unplug it, do not use for at least a few days then.try again. It worked for mine.

Your Red CRT may be on its way out. Try turning down the G2 screen control on the red CRT just a little. That should help for now. A new red tube wil be a reality in the future.

Considering that in both cases, the set will turn on but not stay on, indicates either a condition of overheating due to a failed fan or it could be a component going into thermal runaway in the power supply itself that is causing the fault.

This is not a safe area to probe around in since there are capacitors that may contain a charge for a fairly long time.

If the fan cannot be heard, this is probably a cheap repair, otherwise, get an estimate first.
