I brought a Motorola VHF HT1250 radio off of eBay & I programmed it & tested it out & everything worked great for a few hours & then it beeped once & shut off & now will not come back on.

Returning the radio would be your best option. There are many factors which can cause a radio to go dead. Assuming you have checked your battery and battery contacts, and tried a known good battery, if your radio will not power up, there isn't much which can be done.

Best regards.

Need to program

Hi,

You have a Motorola CP110 VHF portable radio. (the Make/Model)

then you say.... need to program..... your car, your radio, your remote, your partner????

If by chance you need to program the radio and you are looking to find the software to do so, then that's the info we need to help you.

If this is the case, and I'm only guessing, Join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, the team there will give great advice & info, plus you can download manuals, diagrams and software(if available), all of this is free.

I hope this answers your query, if not, please supply more info.

Best regards,
Peter

How do I change and select channels and frequencies w my motorola axv5100 two-way radio? Can it communicate with a motorola talk about?

Hello,
This radio comes with programmed channels and tone codes programmed into it. Should it still be stock the the diagram below is what you will use. The tones programed into are there to prevent someone on the same frequency from interfering with your conversation. It's a way of isolating the frequency. These are adjusted by the A,B,C,D You will know what frequency it is by the channel indicated. As for weather or not it will communicate with a Motorola talk about the answer is no. This radio is a VHF frequency and the talk about is MURS.
Regards, Tony

Channel - Pre-Loaded VHF Frequency (MHz) - Code (Hz)
1 151.6250 67.0 2 151.6250 77.0 3 151.6250 88.5 4 151.6250 179.9 5 151.6250 None 6 151.9550 67.0 7 151.9550 82.5 8 151.9550 94.8 9 151.9550 179.9 10 151.9550 None

Is the CP185 narrowband capable?

Yes. It is programmable to either wideband or narrowband on each channel. All current model VHF and UHF Motorola radios are narrowband capable.

Best regards.

HOW DO YOU GET THE WEATHER CHANNEL ON WALKIE TALKIE?

Your radio must have VHF capability, as weather channels are VHF. Then your radio must be programmable to the weather channel for your desired area. If you repost a question including your Motorola radio name/model, we could be more specific.

Programing Motorola HT1000

The HT1000 is a dealer programmable unit. The DTMF keypad on the front of the unit would be nonfunctional unless you were using it in conjunction with a repeater system which allows for DTMF phone capabilities. Otherwise it is just an extra place for dust, dirt and moisture to get in the radio. If you are working as a firefighter, it is highly recommended you get a holster to cover the front of the radio to prevent moisture from getting to the component board through the keypad area. As for telling if the radio is VHF or UHF, typically the 4th digit of the model number will tell you. If it is an R it is UHF; if it is a K it is VHF. Motorola HT 1000

Your radios might need reprogramming. This is done by a Motorola dealer using the appropriate cable and software. The software is not available for end-users. Cost generally is $35-$40 US.

From the information you provided, it is unclear if the radios previously worked together; or if the radios are the same model number. These are facts the dealer would be able to inquire about, and it would help them determine if your radios can talk to one another.

What's the channel frequencies for a common 22 channel motorola 2 way vhf radio?

Not sure what you want.....VHF band ius approximatly 130mhz to 175 mhz..... in that VHF band there is a commercial VHF band aprox. 155 mhz to 175...... the amateur radio vhf band is aprox. 135 to 150mhz.

With amateur radio, any freq in that range can be used...... with commercial radio the FCC cangive a company any freq. in that range also.

If you are looking for FRS/GMRS frequencies they are UHF freqs not VHF.

So I'm not sure exactly what you want......sounds like you might want to program in FRS freqs into an Icom amateur radio. If thats  the case you will need an Icom that will do UHF freqs.
