Belkin F5D9010 Card Won't Light Up When Plugged In

I purchased a Belkin card tonight and plugged it into my laptop. Unfortunately, when I plug it in, the lights on the card come on for a second, then turn off. I've installed the drivers, but it cannot see any wireless networks. Any ideas as to what might be going on? Thanks!

I am having the same problem and I have a known good wireless router in my house and the card won't pick up it's signal or any others that I know are close. I am using Windows 2000 with the Belkin F5D9010 wireless MIMO card. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software/card and it doesn't seem to change anything. The wireless utility still shows no wireless networks in the vicinity.

Ok, stoopid question but do you have a wireless router? Or are you just trying to get on other peoples networks... dont really matter but just want to know if you have an established wireless network. Also, the belkin your purchased, what model is it? And last but not least, did you try to just put the card in before you installed the drivers?

YES. There are some PCMCIA readers that connect to your PC/Laptop USB. Here is one on eBay:

Bought a G Wireless USB Network Adapter, on install when it asks to plug it in the computer cant find it, then I get a error message that I need to instal the network card

To configure the wireless router, it needs to be connected to a computer with a LAN cable. Therefore the computer needs a LAN card and the LAN card driver installed and if you need to connect a laptop or computer to the router by wireless then the laptop or computer needs a wireless card plus the wireless card driver.
To configure the wireless router and wireless cards in the laptop or computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Belkin note bookcard isnt working

Probably need to install the software that came with the Belkin card first. Make sure the card is NOT plugged in when you install from the CD. After that, restart your computer and make sure the card is now plugged in. Also, you need to set the router and belkin card with the same settings.

Restored factory settings on pc & cant re -instal belkin adaptor

The Belkin site has very specific instructions for installing this adapter in a pc with Vista. These instructions are at: http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F5D9050&aid=6112&scid=0
I would first unistall any Belkin Software that has already been installed, shut down the system completely and then restart. After you have fully restarted the system then follow the Belkin Site instructions EXACTLY. Any variation is apt to mean an unsuccessful install. Good Luck and have patience.

Belkin Notebook card and its wireless access point

Hello,

In Ideal scenarios, you should just plug in the card in the notebook and it should get installed automatically.

Thanyou may scan for the available networks and you should be able to seethe network of your Netgear router(Assuming that the Netgear you havementioned is wireless capable and configured).

You can connect to the network and it should work fine.
Check this link

Let me know what happens.
Regards,
Sammy

Belkin G+ Wireless USB Adapter

What OS (Operating System) are you using??
If it's Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7, then they MUST have any USB device plugged into the SAME USB port, or it screws up the OS.
Try going to Control Panel (Classic View), then choose SYSTEM to get into Device Manager, go down to USB and see if ANY Belkin adapters are listed (assuming the USB adapter IS Plugged In) - if you see any listed, double-click the adapters and choose to uninstall then.
If that doesn't work, then reboot, pressing F8 repeatedly before the Windows "Splash Screen" shows up. After repeatedly pressing F8 on Boot Up, you should select SAFE MODE (just the choice that only says SAFE MODE). Once SAFE MODE comes up, open Device Manager the same way you did before, then go down again to USB and Delete ANY & ALL Belkin USB adapters listed.
Then reboot and see it it recognizes the Belkin USB adapter now and hopefully will let you setup it's Software.
If you like this, please RATE me .... Thanks
