Question about LG VX8300 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

I can't hear you !!!!

I cannot hear or be heard my phone (just out of the blue) and when I try to check the volume setting on the side of my phone, it says "master volume/car kit". I've tried powering it off and on again and also plugging it into the charger. Do you have any other suggestions before I have to take it into to the store because I know there will be a substantial charge for that !!!

I had that same problem from out of no where my phone went into car kit... I think it got wet. I tried a few other options I found on this page and finally just plugging it into my home charger for a second fixed it.

I accidently got my  LG VX8300 wet and after it dried off, I plugged in my home AC charger and the phone went into Car Kit mode.  At the local Verizon store, the technician cleaned the contacts with alcohol and a Q-Tip. But as soon as I turned the phone back on, it was in Car Kit mode. So I went to the Verizon store where I purchased the phone and was told that LG has designed the phone in such a way, that when the phone does get wet, as mine did, it goes into Car Kit mode so that LG knows for sure what the problem is.  Moral to the story is: Don't leave the phone on the kitchen counter when I'm washing the dishes.  Dah... Water splashes and goes everywhere!

Car Kit doesn't necessarily mean the phone got wet, but it does mean that there's a problem with the charging port. Most likely there's a lot of corrosion in there, and if you clean it out then it may get the phone working again.

The best way to clean your charge port is with some contact cleaner and a toothbrush.

If the problem persists after that, then you'll want to bring it in to a store and get the phone serviced or replaced.

My lg kf750 secert has no sound. I have checked volume. When the phone rings there no sound and i can't hear person on line but they can hear me.

Firstly, try to go to 'Menu > Settings > Reset settings'. This will clear only your personal preferences, thus not touching your applications or personal data. However, ff you keep having problems with your sounds, perhaps a hard reset could sort your problems out. Be warned that a hard reset will set everything on your phone to their factory defaults, for what you'll loose all programs you have installed, as well as your personal data. To perform a hard reset, turn your phone off completely, by pressing and hold the power button and answering to the prompt. Then, press and hold the Volume Down, the Call, and the Power buttons, until the LED (at the side of the camera) flashes. Release the buttons. That LED should flash in green/red/blue. When your device powers up, it should be completely clear now.
Hope it works for you, since this is pure theory. I have never done it myself.
Cheers! Carlos

Why did my sound stop working on my LG Vu? I didn't drop it or hurt it. I can't hear or be heard during calls either.

Did you check the setting on the side switch? That will adjust both the ring volume as well as the volume of the speakers.

Normally, I wouldnt expect to find a control for a mic on a phone

Volume not loud enough

When you're in a call, there are two buttons on the left side of the phone that control the volume.  Outside a call these buttons control the ringer volume.

W220 hearing problem!

The internal screen settings only adjust volume of ringer, the external button on side adjusts ear piece/hand set volume.
If the volume buttons do not turn up the volume of the hand set then the handset is defective

Can't hear phone ringing

There are many reasons for this to occur, first select a profile and set the ringer to an audible tone and adjust the volume to a lever you can hear clearly. To do this first try pressing the silver button on the left side when the main screen is facing you(Open phone) and if you look closely you'll notice one button on the side has a top and a bottom half the top increases the volume and the bottom decreases the volume. If the volume it up all the way and you still hear nothing then press the menu button and go to settings, followed by going to sounds and select the profile "normal" and adjust as necessary to make your ringer alert you, if the tone is not heard try a different one, if all else fails remove the battery and leave it out for two minutes, then put it back in and turn your phone back on. This sometimes is necessay to make a newer phone clear a "bug" as newer phones are much like MS Windows and require a re-boot from time to time. I hope this helps...

Can't hear the Ring

Hello, Push the center button(in the middle of the four directional arrows). Scroll over to the screwdriver/wrench icon and select it. Scroll down to the "Audio" line and select it. Scroll down to "Loud Detail" and select it. Set "Ring Volume" to a higher number(I use 7). Have someone call you and you should be set. If this doesn't work, with the phone open, look at the two buttons on the left side of the phone, push the top button until you have your desired ring volume. Good luck!
