I thought that all front loading washing machines were supposed to stop when you tried to open the door.
And I'm as perplexed as "dauphine." How did you get it opened? Mine won't work at all if the lock/latch doesn't lock at the beginning of the cycle.

Water level control switch not working. even i set water level to very low it just keeps filling and has overflowed. i am guessing that the switch needs to be replaced.

Hello,

It depending on exactly what your seeing that will determine the problem.

Does your washer start agitating and keep filling?? if yes it does start agitating and the water continuies to fill try disconnectiing the power and if it keeps filling what would be wrong is that the water inlet valve is sticking open and it would need to replaced

If the washer continues to fill and does not start agaitating would be a defective water level switch as you suspect it may be.If ya disconnect the power and it STOPS filling replace the water level(pressure) switch.

Frigidaire stackable fills up and will not agitate but the final spin works fine. already replaced timer & pressure switch but it still wont agitate

Hello Jeremy,

Does the washer do anything on the agaitate cycle...and sounds being made or is it just sitting their till it drains and spins??

You ya hear what sounds like it should be agaitating yet it doesn't ya would need to check the agaitator drive block which is under the agaitator or also check the the transmission pulley

I want to say check the timer if no noise but i know its new so its a mechinal problem as opposed to a electrical one

The washer is not making any unsual noises but the agitation works but it is very slow which is not normal and the spin cycle does not work at all. Do you still think it is the coupler?

Yes the spin and agitation both are achived by the coupler i dont want to disagree what another says but i see wher eit was suggested the dogs but since i see where ya wrote its both the agaitation and spin thats giving ya trouble i firmly belive it may be the coupler...if it were a problem only with agaitate and it spun fine then i would be thinking dogs

How to remove the agitator on a GE ProfileWPSR3120W0WW? The utube video (describing a bolt at the bottom) does not describe accurately what we have. Softener dispenser removal only yields a clear plastic...

Hello,

Your washer is close to the one in the video but as you know not exact..that agitator coupler shown in the video bolts down under the agaitator. To remove your agaitator which locks into teh agaitator as shown just pulls off....so to remove your just grab the bottom of it and pull straight up and off of the agottaor coupler.

Removal of the Agiator

Hello,

To remove that agitator all that needs to be done is grasp it from the bottom of it very near the bottom of the inner tub and tug and pull it off...it has a center hub under of the agaitator and the agitator fits on to that hub by several locking tabs and simply pulling up on the base will allow the agaitator to come off.

All cycles on my washing machine work, but machine will not agitate. What are possible solutions to fix the issue? It is a Hotpoint, top load, model # is vvsr1070daww

Hello,

The most probable thing causing it to not agitate is going to be stripped/broken agaitator coupler.
The video will show you to take out the agitator and check for a defective agaitator coupler

Kenmore elite washer

Assuming you have a top loader, because a front loader does not have an agitator, the spindle that holds the agitator securely in place has worn down to the poing that it won't turn. They are usually made of rubber and has grooves in it and fits into a the agitator. The grooves are worn out. Replace them from an appliance store and you should be in good shape.
