Re: Modem Speed Dropped With Updated firmware
Try to lower down the MTU settings of your router. If that does not work, you can try to isolate the concern by using another modem and checking if the same problem happens. if it does, then it is a problem with your ISP but if not then it is on the modem. You can try reset and reconfigure or firmware upgrade.

yes of course.. connect your mobile to the computer via connectivity cable, blue tooth or infrared. setup a new connection and enjoy.
note: you need to get access point settings from your network carrier. for further problem you will have to cantact your customer care of your network carrier and get help from them since all the carriers have different settings..
Turn everything off for 2 minutes, cable modem, router and pc.
Turn on modem and wait 2 minutes for the modem to sync to TW. Turn on router after 2 mins and wait until the router syncs with the modem. Turn on PC It sounds like your router lost its connection to the cable modem, which happens from time to time. TW will not help with your router. I worked for a cable co and the router and modem losing sync was the at least 70% of the calls. FYI cable doesn't use DSL,just the phone co.
is it wireless connection or ethernet? Zoom routers have a firewall and when you have something connected that the firewall doesnt like (Xbox 360 or Gaming) it will drop the connection. goto zoom.com/x6 and it will give you instruction on how to by-pass the firewall using an different IP address.
Unplug the plug (from phoneline) on back of USB modem, plug into Zoom router. Plug one end of an ethernet cable into router and one end into your PC. Type http://10.0.0.2 into a web browser (eg. Firefox or Internet explorer) username/password is admin/zoomadsl go to basic setup and input your ISP username and password (the one given to you by your internet provider) under PPP. Click configure my connection. Save changes and then write to flash (both buttons on bottom of page)
Contacted the company who gave the good advice of changing the DPI settings and also showed us 2 different ways of how to do it. For anyone who has the same problem try right clicking the desktop and click on personalise, adjust font size to default and save,. Alternatively click start, control panel, appearance & themes, change screen resolution, settings, advanced, DPI to normal 96 DPI and save. Thanks for your help we will always check this site if problems in future.
you need a ethernet network card, if you want it connected to the x6 directly, or you can get a wireless card for the desktop.
the instruction for setup the x6 is straightforward. but you need to follow it to the letter, otherwise it won't work.
the modem may have gone faulty so if your isp provided it ask them to replace it if the modem is in warranty period and if your isp provides internet connection through the phone line then first please try plugging the modem on main socket in with an adsl filter plugged in and if this is not the case then problem is definately the line through which the broadband signal come to your place which is suppose to be sorted out by your isp.
If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue
