My PE8700 worked fine for over 2 years also. Suddenly over the weekend, it cannot find the DVI input. The other inputs work just fine.

One reply said that the "Comms board" may need to be replaced. What is the comms board, where do you get one and how do you replace it?

Hi 1ivans

I would suggest that you should firstly try another DVI cable.

If this doesn't work , then the comms board will most probably need replacement.

On my 322 DTR I get a Sat 1 no input even when I swap the 2 input cables. Input 2 shows ok

Hello, Daniel Busa here with Dish Network customer service. It sounds like your signal input on your reciever may be fried. You will probably need a replacement, one thing you can try is replacing the separator that runs to the sat input 1-2. This may be the issue as the ports are rated differently if you pick on up make sure it's rated at 2,150 mhz.

If i connect the DVI cable to my Video card (9200 family)and to my monitor an Asus VH222H i get a dialogue box saying no DVI signal. if i use the VGA cable everything works fine.Does this mean the card...

Make sure your monitor is set up to recieve what ever signal you are wanting via the monitor's menu. There should be an input button on the monitor to select the signal type. The connection really doesn't matter as long as you are able to use the monitor. There could be something wrong with the connector on the video card. Also make sure you are using the card and are not using the onboard graphics connection by mistake. If the problem persists it is more than likely the card.

I have a Sony DAV-HDX275 Theater System that I'm trying to connect to an old 17 LCD Dell Monitor. The cable I have is a HDMI to DVI connector. My monitor will pick to the digital signal but nothing appears...

This is because it is transmitting an compressed encrypted signal and the monitor is made to recieve uncompressed signals,You can sometime get around this by changing the output to vga or analog on the theater system.

TV only formats at 480i

Check in your instruction manual to see if the set can actually work in 1080i. Most of the sets going back about 4 to 6 years ago were not capable of working in 1080i.
The signal coming to your Sat box may be in 1080i, but your Sat box has to be able to output 1080i. This can be quickly verified by calling the support for your service and giving them the model number of their Sat box.

DVI no input signal......VGA input active.

Are you running an additional Video card? Or are you using the built in one.
You might try cleaning the connector / plugs with acetone from finger polish remover or de=natured alcohol.
Never jam anything on a computer.
If its an add on card, remove it and reboot. Shut down and reinstall card and reboot.
keep me posted please,

Display resolution through dvi input HELP!

For the record I have a playstation 3 running to tx100 through hdmi to dvi adapter. It does all resolution no probs, including 720p,1080i and 1080p (which tx100 does do smoothly through dvi). My denon upscaling dvd player works fine too. In fact the tx100 looks totally awsome with PS3 games and Blu-ray.

Maybe your dvi lead is the wrong type (i think there are 2 types) or perhaps you could test with a differrent piece of DVI kit in case it's your pioneer causing probs? Hope this helps.

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.

DVI will not recognise now ?

Presumably, you're going directly from DVI port on computer to DVI port on Z2?. Here is a Q&A list based on all the possible sceanrios for this hook-up...

Q1: Is it DVI-D or DVI-I (with unencrypted DIGITAL output from graphics card)?
A1: Choose 'Input 2', then 'RGB(PC Digital)' on Z2.

Q2: Is it DVI-D or DVI-I (with HDCP-encrypted DIGITAL output from graphics card)?
A2: Choose 'Input 2', then 'RGB(AV HDCP)' on Z2.

Q3: Is it DVI-I or DVI-A (with ANALOGUE output from graphics card)?
A3: Choose 'Input 2', then select 'RGB(Analog)' on Z2.

After making sure the correct 'Input 2' is chosen to match the signal coming from the card's DVI port, make sure your card is outputting a suitable screen resolution that the PLV-Z2 can display correctly, e.g... 1280x720 (native, and preferable!); 640x480; 800x600; 1024x768 (choose this if you don't have 1280x720); 1280x1024, etc. Also, if you have multiple refresh rates availble for the resolutions, choose 60Hz.

You should end up with an image.
