Question about Sony KDF-E60A20 60 in. LCD HDTV
VERY Easy to change!!! We took the back off and on the right side by the fan is where it connects, just like KimSm said.. My husband called the shop and they wanted to charge 100 to come and look at it, 100 to take it with him if needed, 50 a night storage fee, 600-700 to fix it... He went as far to tell my husband there was no way we could fix it ourselves, there was soldering involved, circuit boards involved.. All lies!!! I just happened to stumble across this website and I am glad I did.. Saved a bunch of money. Thanks Everyone!!! Harley_Diva

People, the whole reason for a thermal fuse is SAFETY! The thermal fuse is positioned by the lamp to prevent overheating and possible fire hazard. Leave the thermal fuse in the open cool air as some have recommended, but don't be surprised when the fir department visits you.

Guys... thanks so much... some other forums require advnced membership and **** like that....screw that!!!!! KIMSM knows exactly what to do.... Once I removed the back, it literally took about 30 seconds... thers a white clip that holds a wad of wires together, and in that bundle you will see only one clip that holds a gray/white color wire combo... .thats what you need... press the tab, remove the old, clip in the new, (it can only go one way) and you're done....

Where do you guys order the fuse?

Sony won't post anything. When you take off the back, it is on the right hand side. You will see the little fan there too. We wiped all the dust out very carefully including the little fan. We did not pull the old fuse out, we just detached it at the clip and clipped on the new one. This leaves the new thermal fuse out and it is now in a cooler area. If you attempt to remove the old to put the new in, in the same place, you will have a lot of unnecessary work. You will see the little clip to disconnect and just clip on the new one. The fuse is just a couple of wires connect together at the clip. Really simple, I did it myself with no instructions. Good Luck... Kim
