I did replaced the fly-back transformer but it dosen't fix the problem, I also check continuity on the power supply glass fuse and is OK. I been advise that the problem is the green CRT, but I have to be sure about it, to invest more money on it. Thanks.

This is a major problem faced by samsung lcd and hdtv customers these days.... The problem is with thte display not the audio system.. Don you have the warranty for this tv... how long its been since you bought it..if you have warranty its well n good other wise you have to take your mechanic who can fix the display for anywhere around $350 - $400...

It seems that you have an issue with the power board. You could also have faulty convergence modules causing the blending of colors.

I wouldn't advise you to open the set yourself, because of the complicated circuitry and high voltage. It is safest and best to get TV repairman to look at this issue and provide a fix/repair.

Well, if the problem is just the CRT, that wouldn't cause the TV to stop powering up. You would just have convergence / video issues, and not power up issues. I am not saying that the green CRT is good, it could still be defective and needs replacement.

The click sound is probably the power relay being energized. I think the issue is definitely to do with the power board / supply. Look for busted capacitor, etc. They should be easy enough to identify..they will have a swollen cap (top). Also check the relays, MOS, rectifier diode bridge, switching IC's, etc. It would probably be easier to simply replace the whole board.

I'd recommend THIS link for a service manual for your TV. They also have many spare replacement parts, and they can help you locate the necessary parts online if need be. Also, if you purchase the service manual from, they will provide free unlimited online assistance while you install the necessary components.

    Hope that helps!

Well, as you can see, there can be many reasons for this issue, and only a spot check and testing can really pinpoint the cause. We are just providing all possible causes, but unfortunately, we cannot physically test anything ourselves.

@Kishkane: The gentleman said he already replaced the flyback..hence his warranty is already voided..

Hi,if its a an LCD RPTV it sounds like a light engine problem.Basically your tv uses 3 LCD chips that create the image .Each chip is like a tiny screen that blend together to get the colors and picture right. They are green, red and blue. When they start to fail you will start to get color discoloration or vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine.God bless you!

Sounds like the converge has gone out. 2 parts that blend the colors together. I am looking into fixing mine by myself this time. They say if you can solder and follow a schematic, you should be able to fix it.

OK, Time to fix it !!. Replace two Ic's Stk 392-110, and get in service menu settings , and adjust point by point. After replaced stk IC's, check if any resistor look brown or born, if yes, replaced it with 6.8 Ohms. If you have questions? noetvs@embarqmail.com . Good Luck !!
