When you checked spark did you check for spark to engine without sparkplug? if not replace plug first....otherwise I suspect coil in magneto

When the van was started this morning the control panel (odometer, gas gage, PRND indicator, etc) were not working. The van was turned off for a few minutes and then the instruments were working again, but...

First, let me educate you to the fact that there is no such thing as a "Fuse issue". If a fuse is blown, it is the result of an overload in the circuit caused by a shorted component or wire. Fuses are NEVER the CAUSE of an electrical system problem. Blown fuses are ALWAYS the RESULT of a problem in an electrical circuit.
Second, if the things started working again without replacing any fuses, it most definitely has nothing to do with a blown fuse...blown fuses don't heal themselves.
If the engine started and ran, it is not a battery issue. If the battery was dead, the engine would not start.
There is most likely a problem with your Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) or one of the battery input circuits going to it. A bad ignition switch can cause this, especially if the problem is intermittent.
The Check Engine light is on because the Engine Control Module(ECM) has recorded a fault code that may point you directly to the problem. I'll bet that if you have the ECM scanned you will either have an "Ignition Circuit" code or a "U-code" for loss of communication with the IPC. (they have to talk to each other.)
I would recommend beginning diagnosis by having your ECM scanned and find out what codes it has. If this is, in fact, caused by a faulty ignition switch, there may be several codes stored at the same time.

96 ram1500 changed tranny it will turn over but not start chaged ecm ran for two days and quit again no fire no feul

Check All your fuses, you may have blown the fuse for the ECM, since you have no Spark, and no Fuel... You also may have a short with in an electrical circuit, IF THE FUSE IS BLOWN....Goodluck..

12v outlet fuses keep blowing.

Faulty reciever ,,, Worth checking the plug assy for internal damage . Check that the sat receiver is within the power capabilities of the vehicles acessory plugs < 10amp .

Tuned up a 1993 chevy cavalier has spark won't start

Spray aerosol carb cleaner into the throttle body while an assistant tries to start the engine. If it runs for a few seconds then quits, you are not getting fuel into the engine. Check the fuses. You might have blown the fuse for the fuel injectors (possible if you removed any of the injector harnesses) or the fuel pump relay.

93 chev s10 blazer, no fire to fuel pump, changed the two relays.

check the fuses called 'ECM 1&2 or A&B'. one of them blown can cause no fuel/no spark both.
