We decided to restart the rounter because the speed of our internet wasn't very good. However when we turned the rounter back on our wireless wasn't working anymore, and now the whole thing isn't working....

In resetting router it is like setting it back to its factory default. what you need to do is just access the GUI where you can set up the Username and password. Once done with it you may be able to connect to the internet.

The belkin rounter of my dad's laptop was installed without password setting. i tried to set it up on 192.168.2.1 configuration page. i was notified that the rounter will restart again itself...thereafter...

If you can still remember the password that you entered on the configuration page, follow the steps below:
1. In the lower right corner of your screen (near the time and date), right click on the wireless network connection icon, then select view available wireless networks. Or, if your wireless adapter has its own wireless utility, you should see that in the lower right corner of your screen.
2. You should see the router's wireless network name (SSID). By default, the SSID is "belkin54g". Select the SSID and it will prompt you for the network key.
3. The network key is the password that you entered on the router configuration page.

If you cannot remember the password that you entered, follow the steps below.
a. Connect your computer to the router using an ethernet cable.
b. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
c. Go to Wireless -> Security. Copy the network key.
d. Then follow steps 1-4 above.

For the MAC computer:
1. From the Airport menu, select the SSID.
4. When asked for a password, enter the network key that you entered on the router.

I hope this helps!

Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

How to unlock my wireless router

Hi Friend

I hope this will work for you. There is a RESET button on every router. Just push and hold that RESET button for 30 seconds. After that release the button and unplug the power cable from back of the router and wait for another 30 seconds. After that plug it back and wait until the power light becomes solid and steady. Now your router is unlocked.

Enjoy

Chiranjeet

My belkon g plus rounter is not connecting to my new laptop dell but it is connecting to all the other laptops and pcs in the house and i asked my mates father and he said there was code does anyone know...

Code? Do you have any network security enabled? like WPA or WPE? If you do, you'll need a network key in order for you to connect, and you can find that by accesing the adminstrative console of your router, usually, at address http://192.169.2.1. and I am sure you meant 'Belkin' right?

if you dont know it, then the only way to remove it is to reset it and everything will go back the factory defaults, so you will need to reconfigure it if you will reset the device.
