you may be using more air that unit can supply. This is a very common error. it is only 5 cfm which is small.

I have been repairing compressors major brand Rol Air, Dewalt, Porter Cable, Jair, Jenny, Emglo, etc. and find, even with major brands,very limited information on assembly instructions. I havent seen any material on Kobalt, however find that their compressors are very much like the oil-less from cambell hausfeld, dewalt and porter cable. Parts are available on the net. The major problem that I see is that there is no easy / reliable way to install the drive belt. Without proper procedure or tools, the belt will tear. For the most part, you are on your own to experiment on repairing them. You can re-post a specific question on the Kobalt and I will try to answer. Good luck.

Your Craftsman model 919.165200, 5hp, 20 gallon compressor was designed to run on 115~120v 15amp. I believe that it was made by Campbell Hausfeld and is of the oilless single cylinder type. If however your compressor is oil lubed and has a motor /drive belt configuration it may be able to convert if there is a spec plate on the motor with alternate wiring diagram. Many high-end compressors like Rol Air, Jenny, Dewalt, etc with motor/belt drive have a switch selectable voltage, however one must still change the power cord when using 220v. hi mate this problem may be more than 1 1st it could be the piston rings gone and the air is leaking into the crank and has blown the crank seal but you can tell that if oil is coming out the rear off the pump unit also it could be the breather blocked which allows air in and out the breather is the oil filler cap. good luck

The dewalt model d55168 is a high-end oil-free compressor. Oil free compressors could have a short life span due to dusty or dirty conditions at the job site. The cylinder of your compressor is open from the bottom and will **** in debris scratching the cylinder/ silicone-vinyl piston ring reducing pressure. However the reduction in pressure will be over time till the point that the compressor will not reach cut-out pressure and just keep running. If you lost pressure suddenly to "0" then you probably lost the drive belt. A replacement can be found at a local dewalt service center or ordered thru www.toolpartsdirect.com. When you take down the compressor, be sure to examine the cylinder /piston for wear. These are the two most common problems. Good Luck on your repair and email if you have other questions.
