Really? have you tested them with cables from other ports that work? if thats ok, then you are looking at a new netgear or other box.

Howto set up netgear router to my computer?

Turn your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) off.
Turn your computer off.

Unplug one end of the Ethernet cable from the network-port on your computer.

Plug that end into the WAN port on the router.

Take another Ethernet cable, and connect one of the LAN ports on the router to the network-port on your computer.

Turn the cable-modem on.
Turn the router on.
Turn your computer on.

Done -- the 'default' configuration in the NetGear works, 100% of the time.

Hi I am trying to connect a netgear DG834G router but it arrived without instructions and installation cd?? I have no idea which cables to put where ... can you help me please? thanks

You will have to connect the netgear through a cat5 cable. Connect to the back of the pc and into one of the for same ports on the back of the netgear. Once you have done this open internet explorer and type in the address bar 192.168.0.1 that is the default ip code for that kind of router. once asked for the username and password type he following

Username : Admin
Password : password

Once in there goto basic settings and fill in all the information that you need.

If 192.168.0.1 doesn't work there is a little whole on the back of the router using a paper clip insert and press the button. This will reset the router back to defaults. You can download the manual from www.netgear.co.uk

Thanks J
