Realalema60,
The main speakers can handle up to 120 watts and the satellites about 60 and the center near 90. As long as the speakers are 8 ohm rated, you have no issues with your receiver over powering them so play away.

Hi,
yes you can use directly. Just connect the output of the speaker to the input of the receiver. it will work.

My gale 3080 sub has a bad mains hum

Check that it properly grounded so that you don't have "ground loop hum" and that you have no power cords crossing other connections.

I WANT TO SELL 4 MIRAGE AVS 200 AND ONE avS 100 SPEAKER. WHAT IS THE VALUE IF THEY ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION?

There is a set of 4 avs 200's on Ebay for ~$200 OBO so figure around there. Really though these are 10 year old bookshelf speakers so the market for them is pretty soft especially now that Polk and the other big names have affordable bookshelf speakers... (I'm just giving my set to a friend when I move this month)

Can I run 8 speakers and 1 sub through 1 1200watt 2:1 Sony Xplod?

asuming the 8s are 4ohms each; wire two in series and that gives you 8ohms then two more in series then you put those together in parallel and it gives you a 4ohm load. repeat with other four for the other side. you should then be able to bridge the sub

series; posative of one speaker to negative of other speaker and that doubles your ohms

parallel; posative to posative negative to negative and that cuts the ohms in half

Wharfdale moviestar 70 speekers and sub

i have the same moviestars 70+ plus a yamaha rx-v750 put the crossover on the sub to maximum (left knob) volume (right knob) about 2/3 clockwise. change the crossover on the yamaha to anywhere from 80-120 ( the 120 will put more bass to the sub) if your yamaha has sub level/volume control set it higher, also if it has LFE/sub out set it to sub only.
Good luck!

Replacement speakers

You should be able to use any of the "bookshelf" speakers to replace the Front Left/Right and Rear Left/Right. I would go ahead and get a dedicated Center speaker. I bought a Pioneer center speaker and a pair of KLH 3-way bookshelf speakers at Radio Shack at low prices. I also bought a pair of Insignia 3-way bookshelf speakers. I put this all together with a Durabrand Home Theature system (dumping the satellite speakers). There is better range and a much fuller tone with these speakers versus the originals. Even if you hadn't lost the speakers, I would recommend this as a good upgrade.
Hope that helped.
