Sometimes the plug that connects the monitor cable to the video card does not make a good electrical connection. <br /> Electronic cleaning solvent can be used to clean the plugs.<br /> Even wiggling or re-inserting the plug might help and when the computer does work they are best left alone to settle in place. <br /> Re-inserting the video card into another slot might also help. <br /> If you get alarming beeps on bootup then RAM is the problem.<br /> <!-- from fixya rte -->
