How do I fix the heater? The igniter will not stay on long. The heater never reaches desired temperature.

Try turning it off and unplugging it for 30 seconds. If that doesnt work, some people I know had to melt ice from their vents with a blow dryer. If not call a technician. Error codes should be in the manual. http://www.rinnai.us/customer-care/manuals-literature

I have Rinnai Glaxy 3 burnner gas heater. It doesn't lit or it lit for a while and then extinguish. How can I service or clean my self

Cleaning of your model Rinnai Vented Gas Heater is not difficult. But will require the removal the front of the heater's cabinet.

What you'll need: A can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with). A vacuum with a hose and brush attachment (a Shop Vac is perfect for this, if you have one), and soft, clean rags.

To walk you thru all the proper steps of cleaning the interior of the unit, I have provided a link to the Owner's Manual for your model, in case you have misplaced yours. You can download and print the manual for future reference. What you're looking for starts on page 35.

Rust can clog the pipes. To clean pool acid will do it.
If no gas flame that is the issue and the thermacouple is suspect. Piolet should be visable - any flame should be at night

Why does red light on "on" button stay on?

Hello,
The reason the red light on your rinnai vent free gas heater stays on simply is because it is having power on it, if it is unplugged, it will go off, or if you turn off the switch from the power outlet, then it will go off too.
As long as there is power supplied to the rinnai vent free gas heater, the power light will remain on.
Take care and good luck

Rinnai gas heater model RCE-318H piezzo keeps trying to light unsuccessfully times out after about 30 secs.then pilot light led stays lit up. any ideas.?

Real odd one as if ignition fails this unit is designed to flash various lights to give you an idea of what the fault is. Also this usually happens after about 10-15 seconds. I'm going to have to ask you to clarify that no other lights flash. If I had this fault exactly as you descibe, after running some basic tests to check gas supply and any obvious damage or burnt out components I would change the the main PCB as a start and the control PCB as a plan B.

Rinnai 2001 natural gas heater

Hi there,

I am not familiar with that particular heater but sounds like blocked jets. You need to blow out the jets with compressed air. Easiest way is to remove the hose at the fitting and blow compressed air through the gas connector where the hose fits on. Make sure the buttons or switches are in the on position. Also if you can see the pilot light (where it lights up with gas) blow down that hole as well. You might see some dirt or what appears to be dirt come up and out. Try that and if it works think of it as a bonus. If you have the same trouble you will need to remove the cowling to get to the actual jets themselves. If it has candle make sure you blow the candles as well as they tend to carbon up - you will probably see a whitish dust come out - keep blowing them till you don't see any more dust. Be careful not to use excess pressure on the candles as they are brittle and can break. Hope this helps.

Regards
Bryan
