Question about Computers & Internet

My daughter loaded an "Eco Disk" DVD into the slot loading DVD drive in her Toshiba Qosmio G20 laptop and cannot get it to eject the disc. Is it possible to get it out without dismantling either the DVD drive or the laptop?

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately there is no release hole as this is a slotloader rather than a trayloader which could be released

Sorry I didn't mean to offend.

There is a small hole on the outside of the drive. Take the end of a paper clip or something smaller if the clip is too big and push it into that hole. This is the emergency release. The drive should open and allow you to remove the disc. If this solves your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, don't rate yet. Just add a comment and I'll be glad to help you further. Thanks.

How and where can i get solution for the problem of my toshiba qosmio f20 that say's "windows/system32/config/system is corrupted" and suggests that i have to load cd installer but my optical...

try to use external dvd drive, then just load the recovery disc that are included when you purchased your laptop, but be careful coz once you have just load the recovery disc it might restore the whole system from the beginning so their is a chance that all of your files will be deleted. My suggestion is to ask help first to technical person to backup your files then after backup load the recovery disc. Just a thought hope it helps thanks.

How do i upload the disk onto my mac at home. There isnt a tray dvd-rom it is an ejectable disk format. I put the mini dvd in and nothing happens...seconds later it ejects.

You're fortunate the disc ejects. Many slot-loading DVD drives will get these mini discs stuck in them. You either need an external tray type DVD drive (some are $50 or less) or borrow a computer a tray type DVD drive with either the possibility of copying the data to the hard drive and then to a full size DVD (or dual optical drives (only one needs to be a writer) to copy from one to another). Check the specs for mini-disc (8 cm) support.

I wish that I could be of more help.

I can't put dvd disk into Dell Vostro 1310

1. Switch off the laptop
2. Press the power button to switch it on.
3. Instantly after pressing the power button, start pressing " F2 " key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS setting.
4. Now press/touch the " eject button " of the DVD drive and now you are done, you will get the disc out.

I stole this from http://www.tech-tweak.net/2009/11/how-to-eject-stuk-dvd-from-slot-load.html

I've a DELLXPS M1530. I'm trying to eject a CD, wont come out

I do believe that there is still a small hole by that slot, that you can insert a straightened paper Clip into, and keep pushing until you feel/hear a slight, click, keep pushing gently and the disk should soon appear. IF you cannot do that the DVD will be removable by taking out the fasteners underneath the laptop,, and sliding the DVD out. for repair of replacement.
