110v grinder just stopped what is wrong

could be quite a few tings. Is the power cord cut? If you have a volt/ohms meter I would recommend trouble shooting the tool. First unplug the cord and remove the cover to expose the switch area. Checking the blades on the cord first to their switch connections and then turn the switch on and go across the terminals to the brush leads. Check the condition of the brushes for wear and so forth. It is a process of elimination.

My makita angle grinder(9527NB) the on switch only works when it wants to. Turn it on dont work, bang it and it might work. Any suggestions

This is definitly a bad switch. You can contact Grainger or MSCDirect, and give them the model number and the make/ They should be able to send you out a new switch. These are pretty basic circuits and only take about 20min to replace.

Grinder doesn't start everytime the switch is pushed on and the light at the base of the tool comes on. What could this be ,the grinder is several years old.

that is a service tool light and more than likely the brushes are worn and need to be replaced, make a wiring diagram before removing anything, you can get parts from ereplacementparts.com, you would need your brand and model number. Let me know if you need more assistance

Inboperative (no power)

Howdy, if you have checked the outlet, the cord, the cord connection to the motor the switch and the brushes, then you may just have a worn out motor or reset switch. Getting a motor rewound used to be a practical solution, but it has become difficult to find a service that will charge less than a new grinder would cost. If you have done all these checks, you can shop for a new one with a clear conscience:)

New grinder cannot release lock nut to get blade on

i have trouble breaking makita parts loose. you will probably have to hit it. tap the bottom with a hammer to break rust or whatever loose. don't damage the shaft or nut. you may have to have someone help hold it while you put some muscle on it. good luck

Dewalt 4 1/2 angle grinder

A Dewalt 4-1/2 inch hand grinder that normally uses 110-120 volts? Probably fried the armature windings.

Check the switch (Out of grinder), and see if it has continuity. (OHMS test with multimeter) Pretty rare thing, but perhaps the switch took the brunt of the overload. If this is the case replace the switch.

(After checking continuity on armature, and field windings, of course. If either one is bad, a new switch won't help)

Which Model Number is it, and perhaps I can find an exploded drawing for you.

Manufacturers instructions for a 5" bosch angle grinder

Since most manufacturers require a valid model number to obtain a owner's manual, I can't give you the direct link for your 5" grinder without that information.

However, here's a link to the Bosch web site and their manual section where you can enter in your model number and get a free download of the manual you can save on your computer or print out.

I suggest you set up a new folder on your PC titled "household items" and save a copy titled "Manuals" etc. so you will always have a copy for future use and reference.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Can't get grinder to turn on. Checked brushes, cord, trigger/switch. Any suggestions?

Did you check continuity to the field/brush holders. They have a garter spring that sometimes became overheated and broke. It seems like you have done everything else. Let me know
