DOES THE HOLE HAVE TO BE BLOCKED ON THE REGULATOR AND HOSE ASSEMBLY ON THE 5 BURNER DGFS10SSP 2015?


The hole you are referring to is on the gas supply side of the regulator I guess. It is a very small hole and looks like it is blocked but is probably open. It lets high pressure gas into the regulator which reduces the gas pressure before sending it to the burners. The best way to test it is open and the regulators is working is to disconnect the hose to the burners and place it into a can of water. Bubbles means it is working.

from experience , pressure regulator valves seldom cause a problem
mostly it can be attributed to a blocked or partially blocked jet at the end of the wand
make sure that that is cleaned and that the pressure hose is not failing internally KInked , run over etc

Where is connection


    • Locate the accumulator bolted to the firewall on your automobile. It usually bolts to the passenger side firewall but this is not a rule. However, it will be located on the passenger side of the engine bay. The accumulator is approximately 12-inches in length, 4-inches in diameter and has at least tow large hoses extending from it. These hoses are the high side and low side hoses. Locate the metal portions of the high side and low side hoses. Each hose comprises of a hard-metal line and soft-rubber line secured together. The metal portion of the hose bolts to the accumulator. Locate the low side and high side valves. They are located on the metal portion of the hose connected to the accumulator and both have black plastic caps covering them. The high side valve is a 16mm quick disconnect valve and the low side valve is a 13mm quick disconnect valve

I cannot start my Genesis 2 grill. Based on the description of my problem, my local Ace Hardware specialist recommended I replace the regulator. Sounds simple but I cannot remove it. How do I remove the...


It may be a problem with the regulator, but before you remove the Hose/Regulator Assembly( you cannot remove just the regulator) do the following.

First be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's entire Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Not enough flame height. can only get thermometer up to 130 degrees. Is this the regulator? All burners have same flame height. thanks, Lee Paulus


The problem is due to the regulator. But, it is solvable if you do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

The blockage is in the regulator. But, it''s easily solved. Assuming you have adequate gas in the tank?

Turn the gas tank valve Off & disconnect the hose. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
Open the gas tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the control knob to HIGH. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light each remaining burner the identical same way. Now, do all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem.

If the above didn't solve the prblem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly, as the regulator is locked up. It runs about $30.00 and can found at any hardware store or home center that sells grills and accessories. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

What You need is a power steering pressure hose assembly. NO! you cannot just replace it with a piece of rubber hose! That thing takes about 1200 PSI of pressure! The entire hose assembly from the pump to the steering gear is only about $20 and should be available at most any retail parts store.

the fuel rail pressure sensor is located in between the high pressure line and the fuel rail on the passenger side. It will have 1 vacuum hose and one connector going to it.

P0191 is Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance
P2196 and P2198 are lean bank 1 and lean bank 2. You normally show lean bank codes if the air-fuel ratio is not correct. The most common cause is a hole in the hoses between the PCV valve and the intake on the motor (back of the motor generally). The fuel rail pressure sensor code could either be caused by the vacuum leak or by a failing fuel regulator. I would first check for holes in the rubber hoses especially where there are right angle rubber hose connectors. Look for soft squishy or oily spots on the hoses.
