Hi - The power button is on the left side. Locate the speaker. Then there is a headphone jack and a microphone jack. Next is your power button. You may not see it because there is a little cover over it. I believe you just have to skide this cover to get to your power button. This is an older machine so just in case you don't have a manual I've included a link for one. If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to help. Thanks and have a nice day.

The information above is correct! On the left side there is the speaker, the headphone jack, the microphone jack, then the power button. You have to slide the little door forward (away from your body) but then you must push in on the little button that you just uncovered that looks like a small vent.. Your computer should start up then... Had the same problem & took forever to figure it out, lol... Good luck!!

How to fix my computer?

you will need to unassemble the whole laptop. Depending on the model, as soon as you dry the visible water and moisture. The water might still exist in the internals of the keyboard, removing (disconnecting) the keyboard and drying the visible moisture out of the main board might help. Use an external usb keyboard to test.
Also, open the bottom door compartments, (memory, hard drive, battery) and blow hot air at a distance of aprox 10 inch for few mins not exceeding intervals of 3 mins.
Hope that helps. Post the outcome!

Repair a button on the keyboard sony vaio

Sometimes it's easier to just replace the keyboard. If you can find the key then on some computers it's easy to put on, others are not worth the time.

Look on eBay for a keyboard. Just type your model followed by keyboard. Ex: Sony Vaio VPCCW26FA Keyboard. You'll see keys and keyboards.

There is no sound coming out of the right hand speaker. I have tried to look to see if there is a balance option in the mixer but couldnt find one

Try turning your computer off. Close the top. Wait 15 seconds. Open the top and turn on. If that doesn't work check to make sure your drivers are properly loaded in system hardware.

Al encender mi computadora me pide de inmediato password y no me deja ingresar al sistema. Como puedo desbloquear la clave de la BIOS para poder entrar a trabajar en windows?

o open the BIOS Setup screen:
  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Turn on the computer.
  3. When the first screen displays, immediately press the F10 key if your computer was built in 2006 or later (came with Vista or Windows 7). Press the F1 key if your computer was built before 2006 (XP or earlier). Press the key once every second until a BIOS Setup utility screen opens.
NOTE: On some Compaq Presario computers (before 2002), press the F10 key at the logo screen.
  4. Use the keyboard to move through the menus.
  5. Then disable the Administrator PAsssword

When turning on the computer the first screen comes up stating Toshiba and at the bottem it says push f2 for set up or f12 for boot device selection menu but when you push a button nothing happens.

Why do you press these buttons in the first place? Did you have problems with the stability of your system so you want a different boot option?
If your laptop was experienicing random freezeups and you couldnt get it to boot at all, and nothing you do can get you past the Toshiba startup screen then your laptop may have a bad motherboard. Actually, it's more of a loose contact between the FSB controller chip and the motherboard. Take a look at this laptop motherboard repair tutorial for bad FSB chip contact, see if that may be of any help.

Laptop frozen

Looking at the post date this might be a wee late to help but...

3 ways to turn it off when it doesn't want to.

1. Push and hold down the blue power button it should turn it off.
2. reset button on bottom of case (some models have, a lot don't)
3. Unplug it from the ac adapter, unlock the battery and start to remove it. This is when all else fails but shouldn't hurt anything.

Then find out why it locked up
