Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

Open Question

We have a 1994 28 ft. ford jamboree motor home and had the propane filled the other day but when i turn on the gas switch it just continues to beep and pump but not getting the propane. There is a little key hole next to the switch that a friend said was to release pressure so that it will start filling but i dont know how to use it or what to use to do it. I was not given any kind of key that fits it when i purchased it. Can you please tell me how to work it so i can get the propane working. Thank you, Barbara Taylor

SOURCE: The machine gets stuck mid cycle

If the inlet valve and the pump work correctly then it must be a problem with the timer control.

Here you find a replacement for the timer control assembly, just enter the model number.

Same here, free diagrams, and you can buy parts, enter the model number.

Here instead you find repairing tips : What is wrong with your Washing Machine?.

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking? You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay. Its close to the battery.

Crank position sensor bad?
Are you sure the fuel pump is working? Might be the sending unit in the fuel pump that is bad. Clogged lines, clogged fuel injectors, clogged fuel filter, all things that could be checked.

8/11-1997 motor home dometic rm2310 3-way frig: 2 days ago i got a nice blue flame for the gas operation.now, i can't get gas to flow to the burner to ignite the burner. that is when the gas is turned on...

Few items to check first.
Inspect propane regulator.
#1 Is the RV on level ground?
#2 Purge the air pocket in the line. Turn on all you stove heads. Let it burn for 3 minutes to eliminate air pocket on propane line.
#3 Inspect for leak marking on the outside panel.

A friend gave me one kitchenaid dryer , i don't understand. canI use eletric power and propane, or only propane. I don't have the propane pipes conections, can you please help me understand it?

Your propane dryer only dries with propanr. The electrical cord is for the motor that turns the dryer and for the controls. If you don't have gas piped into your house then your gas dryer is useless. Either get an electric dryer or pipe gas into the house. If you have Natural gas in your home, then you need to get a conversion kit to make your dryer run on Natural gas.

Propane switch not working properly.2005 EXpedition Motor Home

turn off the heater, turn off the tank, turn on the heater, count to ten slowly, turn off the heater again, turn on the tank, turn on the heater. This MAY work due to the saftey features in modern propane systems, if not you only lost some time and I apologize

My Home propane tank was empty, I just had it filled, but when I go to turn on the heat, a flame icon comes up. I noticed on the heater it has an on/off switch for the automatic pilot light. I am not sure...

Make sure all switches are on and open. It may take a few attempts to get gas to the burners so you may have to reset the furnace by either the Emergency switch or circuit breaker. If it takes longer than 3 tries, you may have a gas regulator problem and will need to call your gas company for repair. The regulator belongs to the gas company so they shouldn't charge you to repair or replace.

On a call for heat, the 24 volt thermostat sends a signal to the control module. The control module will indicate a call for heat with a light on the control either blinking or remain solid depending upon model. The inducer (exhaust) blower will purge all gasses from the furnace and pressurize a pressure switch. Once the pressure switch tells the module to continue, the electronic ignition will energize and send 120 volts to the igniter. The igniter will glow and you will be able to see it if viewed thru the small inspection port. Once the igniter gets hot enough, it sends a signal to the module opening up the gas valve (24 volts). Either a pilot will come on or the burner tube will ignite then spread the flame to all burners. Lastly a safety sensor will be looking for a certain temperature within a few seconds and the furnace will continue to operate and the room air blower will turn on in a minute or two.

What could go wrong? The unit will not run if there is no signal from the thermostat (bad thermostat or broken wire), the control module does not sense a signal from the thermostat (bad control), the inducer does not energize (bad motor), the pressure switch does not close (blocked vent piping, bad switch, plugged condensate hose), the igniter does not energize (bad control, bad igniter), the gas valve does not open or there is no gas (bad gas valve, broken wire, no gas), the pilot does not light (dirty pilot), the burner does not light (bad burner, plugged orifice, not enough combustion air), the flame does not spread to each burner (bad flame spreader, dirty flame spreader, more bad burners), the flame safety sensor does not detect flame (dirty or bad flame spreader, bad flame sensor, broken wire, bad control), or the room air blower does not energize (bad fan motor, bad control).

Liquid Propane vs. Propane (like used for BBQ)

They are the same thing.

The propane you buy for your BBQ is liquid in the bottom of the tank. At the top, it comes out as a gas, which you run through a regulator and then into your grill. If you by some chance turn the tank sideways, the valve inside will shut and keep the liquid propane from coming out. If it did you could have a serious fire.

However, there is a difference between what most folks call "Natural Gas" and propane. If you have gas piped into your home, it's natural gas and not propane.

Natural gas dryers won't run right on propane (LP Gas) and vice versa. There is usually a conversion kit you can buy to switch them over.

Out of propane in my truck how do i fill it up

Is the engine in your 1989 Ford F-250 truck fitted to run on LP (propane) gas, or are you referring to the R-12 freon refrigerant in the Air Conditioning system? If you mean the refrigerant, production of R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane) was phased out several years ago, and if you can find a old can of R-12, whoever has one will charge you an arm and a leg for it. You can get a kit to convert the air conditioner over to R-134a, but due to the risk of injury, this job is better left to a professional. There are a few R-12 replacement products that don't require a licensed technician, such as "Freeze 12" (http://www.freeze12.com). To add this you just need a tap and hose kit to connect to the low pressure line into the compressor and fill with the refrigerant. The can will get very cold and any leaking gas could cause skin damage from freezing, and accidentally connecting to the high pressure line will cause the can to blow up, so be careful. If you need propane, just call a propane company that fills home tanks to come out and refill your truck tank.
