Turn up your Brightness in your Settings >> Brightness.
One of the common reasons why it does this is because it saves your battery life on the device.

My ipod touch has a dark screen and doesn't show anything. no light at all as if it is turned off. but i can listen to music for example. it's working but there is no light.

  1. Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again.
  2. If the issue persists, try to reset the iPod touch while it is connected to power. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge the device until it is fully charged.
  3. If that does not fix it. Connect to computer. Open Itunes and make sure you have the latest update.

Fixing an Application on an Ipod touch

Sometimes when you go to play a game on your ipod touch the game will look like it does normally then (some may describe it as a flash) you will see your screen go dark for less than a second and your back at the menu page. There is an easier way to fixing this problem than just deleting the application. Simply just hold the Button in the center of the bottom on the ipod along with the button on top and then as normal when your turning off your ipod it will say "slide to turn off" just keep holding in the button and your ipod will turn off, then restart and everything will be ok!

Charging

Some Pure-Fi's has a problem charging 2nd Gen Touch iPod, even when proper supplied adapter is used. You can try pressing the iPod further into the connector and see if it stays charging. If not, you can tilt the Touch slightly forward to make proper charging contact with Pure-Fi's iPod connector.

If you only charge your 2nd Gen Touch in your Pure-Fi, or other devices less thick than the Touch, like iPod Nanos, then you can stick a spacer on the Pure-Fi behind the Touch to always properly tilt it slightly forward. Only space it slightly forward just enough to cause it to charge so as not to stress the connector.

Stick-on chair/furniture protectors work good for this. If they are too thin, stick one on top the other till you get the thickness you need. Do not use any thicker a spacer than needed so as not to stress the connector any more than needed to make charging contact Use thinner stick-ons, like double sided foam tape, to get the final spacing you need.

The added advantage to a proper spacing between an iPod and Pure-Fi, is it relieves connector stress when plugging in and using an iPod while plugged in, since the taller Touch iPod cannot tilt backward. If you place your spacer at the very top of the Pure-if back panel, then iPods thicker, but shorter, than the height of your space can also be used.

Hope this helps everyone with this irritating Pure-Fi design problem.

To view the charging/not charging status on the 2nd Gen's screen, turn off the 2nd Gen and the Charging Icon will show when contact is being made.

MY IPOD 32G TOUCH JUST QUIT WORKING

you can try and restore it. remember it will clear everything from your ipod but you can resync them later after restoration, to restore:
make sure you have itunes running and have access to the internet.

hold down the power/sleep button and the home button at the same time, the ipod will go dark, once it goes dark release the power button while still holding down the home button, and itunes and a usb cable icon will show up.

you might have to do this several times before those icons show up since your screen does not even light up.

now connect the ipod to your computer and itunes should recognized the ipod and follow the instructions to restore your ipod. it will take some time but it worth the wait.

gODD LUCK HOPE IT WORKS.
please rate.

Itouchs brightness is really low but the brightness level high

You tried setting the Brightness to maximum, but the screen remained dark? Could be a problem with the LEDs that light up the screen. Also try turning it off and back on.

First ipod touch- when i click the top button the screen goes white and freezes. when i try to reset it, it is really dark. i tried to reboot it but my ipod won't connect to itunes help pleaase

Did you re-boot your ipod by flicking the hold switch over and back...then holding in the middle button and menu together until the Apple logo appears and release.
NONE OF THESE ACTIONS ERASE YOUR STORED INFO.

Ipod nano

have you checked the headphones on another device to see if they are broken cause if they are shorting it can drain your battery, secondly turn off that "clicker" that is used when you use the touch wheel. in the settings menu, and while you are there also look into the standby features and back light "lit" time. if this all fails restore the fact. setting. i am sure however you already tried to return it on warranty??!!
