Hi my maytag cloths washer has started to do some odd things and was wondering what the problem could be. when on spin cycle the drum now wobbles uncontrolably and uccasionally also putting water back into the drum while on its spin cycle. I was told there are no springs in this model "MAV7600CGW"

The are springs in this model called suspension springs and they hold the entire wash unit in firm contact with the unit. The drum will definitely wobble if a spring is detached from from the suspension housing. Remove the front panel and the rear access panel to access and check or replace the suspension springs.

The front panel is attached to the cabinet side flanges by screws at the top and secured at the bottom with base mounting clips. Insert a putty knife blade or similar tool between the top cover and the front panel assembly approximately 3 inches away from the sides. Press the blade against the wire clips one side at a time to disengage them then lift the top cover up to a stationary position.

Remove the 2 screws securing the front panel to the upper front corner braces of the cabinet then move the top edge of the front panel away from the cabinet while lifting. This will disengage the front panel bottom from the base clips. Remove the 4 screws attaching the rear access panel and move the panel away to access the rear and side suspension springs. Reinstall the panels in reverse order of the removal steps.

Regarding the water being fed back occasionally into the machine, check to make sure that this is not a siphoning issue. Drain water will be fed back into the machine if the drain hose sticks too deep into the drain tub or stand pipe. Make sure the end of the drain hose is not touching the surface of the drain to prevent siphoning.

The tub continues to go off balance in spin cycle. Starts out smooth then starts to wobble terribly til the UL shows and shuts down. Support rods are good

There is a little device inside the washer that allows the agitator to spin independent of the drum. If this gets stuck, the washer will try to spin the whole drum instead of just the agitator. This will cause the washer to think the load is too large or out of balance, causing the error code. On some Whirlpools this device is just a washer.

Maytag atlantis washer doesnt spin on spin cycle, also found plastic shavings in clothes, appear to be coming from the top outer edge of the tub, a white plastic trim piece. wash cycle seems to work fine...

There can be several causes, the drum off balance would cause the shavings during spin cycle , balance could be one of the the balancing mechanism failed and not running could be the balance sensor shutting down the spin cycle. You should start by checking the balance shocks .

On a flat floor but bangs and crashes when spinnig. Also the drum wobbles.

make sure you loads are balanced, put heaviest clothes in first... if you can rock it by hand then the legs are not adjusted properly. If you stand 2 feet away from front of machine, jump up and down and see it move the floor is soft and you need 2 sheets of plywood to make 1 1/2 inches put under the machine

Maytag Performa Washer spins out of balance

There was a recall on the washer base, which caused the unbalanced problem. Find Technical Buletin TDL-0050B-B issued by Matag.

Hi, this is transmission failure. the clutch has been damaged. I recommend replacing the transmission and agitator assembly as well.

Maytag Neptune makes loud drums like sound 5 min before it stops.

its probably because of the way the clothes are in it. you have to make sure the clothes arent leaning to one side and that they are evenly set up. otherwise when it goes into the spin cycle itll lean and hit the side of the washers inside and make it shake and do what you said it was doing.

Knocking in washer

Hi,
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

good luck.........

Excessive wobble

If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
