Hello, I just bought a Homelite chainsaw at a yard sale with no manuel. I'm not sure what the ratio mixture for the gas. Also, When you tighten the chain is it clockwise or counter clockwise. Does it have to be running? It is a Homelite 190 Model 10778 Serial 703391944. Thanks so much for your help !

50:1 is the proper fuel to oil ratio. Make sure to premix the fuel and oil in it's own can using modern synthetic saw oil, and to shake the can thoroughly just before adding to the saw. NEVER try to adjust the chain when the engine is running! Turn the chain adjusting screw CW to tighten--be sure to loosen the cover mounting nuts so that the bar can move. When adjusting the chain, bring the chain up to the bottom of the bar, but not so tight that you can't move the chain by hand. Check bar oiling by running the tip near some cardboard at speed for several moments--it should throw off a thin line of oil. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for 12 page article on theory and troubleshooting information for Walbro brand carburetors if you have trouble getting the saw to run correctly. Hope some of this helps!

Gas oil mixture

The header says that it is an electric saw which would only require bar oil. A 2-stroke gas engine, however, does require fuel mixed with a modern saw oil at 40:1 ratio plus bar/chain oil in it's own tank as well. Always premix the fuel and oil in a separate can and shake well even before filling the saw. Hope this helps!

What is th petrol and oil ratio for a homelite petrol chainsaw 33c- csp 3314

Generally you're looking at a 50:1 ratio on most chainsaws and I wouldn't see any reason the homelite should be any different. Usually it's one 2.5oz container of the oil mixture to one gallon of gasoline but check the label to be sure.
