Question about Goodman GMS80904BNA Open Flame Mid-Size Heater
You are very correct in your thinking that the fan motor is going bad... likely it was damaged before you got there...now when it runs underload with less air going over it, it is overheating and causing the overload to cut out...
To make sure I would rig an electric meter on to the motor leads and make sure that the power is not cutting out to the motor. That should not be that hard to do and it will verify the problem...
