My ascer want restore factory restore

You may need to restore your Acer computer to its factory defaults if a virus damages operating files or if the system begins acting erratically for unknown reasons.

Restoring an Acer to factory defaults returns the computer to its original state when first purchased.

Click on the Start menu.

Then, select all programs, Acer Empowering Technology and Acer eRecovery Management.

If this is the first time you have opened the program it will prompt you to set up a password and create a backup CD.

Click the Restore button and select the option that reads "Restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the computer to finish the restore process and reboot.

Restoring for the Boot Screen

If your computer will not boot up properly, you can attempt to reach the restore option by pressing the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time.

When the eRecovery menu appears, choose "restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the recovery process to complete and the computer to restart.

Hope this helps

I was wondering how to reboot it to factory settings (how i first bought it) everytime i try, it comes up with system restore and only restores when i last backed it up.

In order to restore your system back to totally factory settings you have to have the CD that came with your computer. Then you will have to make sure that you are booting from the DVD or CD-ROM as the first boot and the second is HD. Not sure as to what F button you need to actuate during the boot up to get to BIOS it may be F2 or F12 anyway when you get to the BIOS select boot and choose CD or DVD-ROM as the first boot then either F10 and exit or exit. Follow on screen instructions in the BIOS.

Now place your recovery CD or DVD in the drive and restart the laptop. Select restore complete system when the option from the CD restore disc comes up. It will format and restore your original system files. You do have to have the original restore disc for your model and serial for your lap top since you did not mention what brand your laptop is just go to the support or downloads or on their site for your computer to be able to purchase one. That is the only way you can restore it back to its original state when you purchased it. Thanks for using FixYa! John

I just wanted to restore my pc to factory settings can you tell me how to do that I have a Sharp PC MM-20 Notebook?

If you have original Cd's just put the cd in cd rom reader and rebbot the laptop (be sure that in the bios is set the option and choose for first boot device "cd rom").
If you never had producers Cd's maybe your laptop has a recovery partition. You may want to refer to user guide or manual on how to restore factory defaults using recovery partition.
You can find user manual or user guide in producers website.
Finally, if you have not original Cd's nor recovery partition you can install windows using an original Cd you already have with original key. You will have to download the drivers for your laptop from producers website

if you have CD Recovery with you, just insert the CD restart it, make sure you have set the boot order on cd/dvd drive, and follow the instruction. If you don't have, downloas from this link:

How do i install the computer back to original factory settings

Hardware:
If you are talking about the BIOS settings.
Reboot the machine and hit the F2 key or Delete key.
Which ever the machine requires to start up the Motherboard bios screen.

There should be a setting that states:
Reset to default factory settings.
Select this, save and restart. Viola your factory settings have been restored.

Software:
Usually the machine came with a restore CD.
Be careful with this one and make certain this is the only course of action. Make sure the bios is set to boot from the CD FIRST before it boots to the hard drive. Follow the CD's instructions to restore the factory default setup. You will Loose EVERYTHING so be sure.

Good luck!

I am trying to restore my computer to original state. Was told to use Ctrl F11. This doesn't to anthing. Help

don't hit ctrl f11 instead hit F8 and then go into Dell Factory Image Restore, that will wipe, format and reinstall all the factory software that's stored on the Recovery Drive.

or reformat your laptop using your cd

Usually, every PC has a restore DVD. Try to boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Don´t forget to select "clean install" during the installation procedure.
Cheers.
