If you are booting your laptop and cannot use the keyboard, it is likely the keyboard may be faulty. Try a USB keyboard to test the system.

Then, the WARRANTY for it is still valid, and any problems will be fixed by ASUS, at minimal cost to you.

However, are you sure that you are not pressing the 'NUM LOCK' button.
When 'NUM LOCK' is active, then pressing the keys gives the numbers.
When 'NUM LOCK' is NOT active, then pressing the keys initiates the actions (left-cursor, PageUp, et cetera).

Hye mr expert...Here i have some question about my samsung netbook n220 series. For your info...actually this problem never happen before. The problem is some of my key not working & some of my key...

Hi,

The problem with your Netbook seems to be that you have turned "NUMBER LOCK" or "NUM LOCK" on. This causes some of the letter keys, e.g U,I,O,J,K,L,M to be printed as numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6.

To turn this off, hold down the "FN" key (near the bottom left of the keypad) and then press "F11" and then release both keys.

Please try this and post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

I have a nokia 6500s-1 slide phone and my 3 yr old daughter pressed something while she had it, and now i'm locked out of the phone, tried all I can to no avail. Can't give you an IMEI number as the phone...

It seems that the keypad is locked. Does your poweron? If yes then press the poweron switch and you will find an option LOCK KEYPAD or UNLOCK KEYPAD. If it is the earlier then your keypad is free. If the later then select Unlock option and free up your keypad. If former then your there is no way that you can unlock your phone except re-installing the firmware. The IMEI number is below the battery. But, it will not help despite everyone asking for a SW generated password. get the firmware re-installed. It takes about half an hour.

My asus 1000hp netbook has a locked keyboard, and can't log in .

Keys 7, 8, 9, 0, U, I, O, P, J, K, L, and M are permanently stuck as if Fn is pressed so it is in the number-pad mode. So I can't type the above keys at all. If I want to type 0 I would have to type M. Obviously I am using a different computer now, just in case anyone is wondering. So does anyone have any solution to this? Please help!

Unlock code

I assume the code in question is your SIM.card - code ?

Get your PUK-code from the provider you have, type in the 4 digit code 3 times and it asks you to type in the PUK-code.
Type it in and select a new 4 digit code.
