Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV generating heat.

My Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV seems to generate a lot of heat when it's been on for a couple of hours.

Even the screen becomes hot to touch. Is this normal?

Ok. The screen feels hot after I turn it off. It doesn't scald my hands or anything, but it feels very very warm. Much warmer than my Phillips LCD ever gets?

    Sony Bravia Overheating Issue:

I am having the same experience with the screen generating lots of heat. Worried about it overheating and shutting down, or parts melting. Has anyone had that experience? The TV is one week old, should I return it?

First, you will have to define what you mean by "hot to touch" ie.:
can you or can you not hold your hand on it for a few moments.

I have a Sony Bravia LCD tv an it won't turn on at all the standby light is not even there I've tried turning on an off and leaving unplugged for an hour still nothing.? Help,

You either have a problem with your power supply board or main board. I would start with having the power supply fuse checked as well as the power supply board!

The picture is visible but there is an opaque blue area in the picture on the left side of the screen

Sony bravia

This blue is caused by magnetic fields. Either the speakers of tv is faulty or demagnatziser not working. Switch of tv and remove powercord from wallsockets. Leave for about 10 hours and plug in powercord and switch on. if demagnatiszr is working the blue will be gone. if not have youre tv demagnetized

If hometheatre or radio speakers are closer than ½ meter this could also generate coulouration of screen. move speakers further away. If tv is on and and being moved your static electricity can also cause this. So switch of if if you move your tv.

Samsung LCD TV Image Retention...I Think

I have not noticed that with my set, Sony Bravia 2007 1080I.

Uh, I have a bigger problem though...

I had just paused my live tv for about 40 minutes on abaseball game and now I have green burn in.
I'm in the middle of searching the net for solutions. I have tried:

pure white screen for 30 minutes (no change)
"fuzz" for 1 hour (no change)
turn TV off for 12 hours (no change)
I'll now try to power down fully for 12 hours and see what happens.
