Depends on how thick. sometimes just pushing on the trailing edge will do it or else you can open the pressure rolls and insert it and then align it.

Dear all, When I try to print on printer Magic Color 24300DL it does not "grab" the paper in the tray. It makes some tries, "rolling" but without any succes. Then I get a Media Jam Tray 1 error,...

I fixed the problem with the machine not grabbing the paper.....I simply opened the main lid and then reached in and pulled out the triangular insert (DRUM?) and then when you look inside all the way to the bottom....you will see the rubber tongue that actually grabs the paper.....more than likely it will be dried out or dirty. If you clean it VERY carefully with a soft moist towelette maybe very little soap....it should clean back to grabbing again...of course I went another step forward and put Take Hold fingertip grip and massaged it into the rubber.......been working great ever since. Thicker stock I have to help with my finger.....but all regular stock should work just fine.....

On i850 canon printer (with slider to the right for thicker paper) won't 'grab' it and feed this thicker paper through makes clunking noises and attempts to no avail: have tried single sheet or several in...

make sure you use the correct paper size for the printers specification :

Media Type Matte photo paper , Banners , Glossy photo paper , High-gloss photo film , Iron-on transfers , Plain paper , Glossy photo cards , Transparencies , Envelopes
  • Max Media Size (Custom) 8.5 x 14.0
  • Media Sizes Letter A Size (8.5 in x 11 in) , U.S. #10 envelopes , European DL , Legal (8.5 in x 14 in) , A6 (4.13 in x 5.83 in)
  • Envelope Sizes US No 10 (4.1 in x 9.5 in)
  • Card / Label Sizes US 4 x 6 Card (4 in x 6 in)
  • Total Media Capacity 150.0 sheets
  • Media Feeder(s) 1.0 x Autoload - 150.0 sheets - Legal (8.5 in x 14 in)

  • if you are then you might want to try cleaning the printer pickup rollers with a lynt free cloth and a bit of alcohol if that does not solve the issue then you machine is fualty and if your still under warrenty I suggest you replace it

    Phaser 7300dn Fuser problem

I don't think so. I have had this problem when I'm using a thicker paper and the paper type is set wrong in the printer.

The printer seems to adjust something based on what paper you say is printing. Try pulling the paper out of the printer, then re-inserting it and then choosing a different paper type - one closer to what you are using - or choose the "special" paper type.

    This should solve your problem.

Open the top cover of the printer and remove the drum (piece with long green handle). Look down inside the printer and you will see a roller with ridges. Clean that roller with formula 409. Try not to use alcohol because it dries the roller.

If you are printing on paper thicker than 23lb. bond, you want to make sure you select "thick stock" for the media type on your computer.

For instance... in your application click on file and then print. In the print window select properties (usually). On the setup tab of the next window you will see media type on the right side. Set it to the type of paper you are printing on. This should make the printer pick up the paper slower.

If the paper is thicker than 90lb index (160 g/m2) it is too thick to go through the machine.

    Paper does not feed

Try to adjust your margins in the paper feed tray, chances are they are too loose. Do not space your margins too loosely or too tightly, just enough for your paper size to fit. Also check if your paper thickness is setup for boards or thicker paper types.

    Printing jammed on thicker paper

See the manual. It looks as if 120g/m2 is the heaviest paper it can use:
"Set Type to correspond to the paper loaded in the tray from
which you want to print. This will let you get the best quality
printout. If not, print quality may not be acheived as you want.
Thin: Less than 19 lb (70 g/m2) thin paper.
Thick: 24 lb to 32 lb (90~120 g/m2) thick paper.
Cotton: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) cotton paper such as Gilbert
    25 % and Gilbert 100 %.
Plain Paper: Normal plain paper. Select this type if your printer is
monochrome and printing on the 16 lb (60 g/m2) cotton paper.
Recycled: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) recycled paper.
    Color Paper: 20 lb to 24 lb (75~90 g/m2) color-backgrounded
    paper."
