Yes. You can get a headphone to rca jacks,
Plug from pc headphone jacks, to theater input rca jacks. Then hook speakers up normally.
You can put plain speakers to pc because there is not enough power to power them without the theater receiver to amp up the power.

Headphone to rca jacks are preety cheap. Check them out on amazon.com

Stereo shuts off at 69

This could be due to the systems overload protection kicking in, which under normal circumstances shouldn't happen, I suggest moving the speakers next to the amplifier and if possible use anew piece of wire to test the speakers start with one and test each individually. I think you possibly have a small short in one of the wires. Or one speaker is damaged. Measure the resistance between each speaker wire pairs. The speaker will probably be either 4 or 8 ohms check that this is the case. Read the speaker labels for clues. Were they the original speakers supplied? by the same manufacturer?

Just bought a Harbinger HX121M 2" Monitor, from Musicians Friend it did not come with a booklet on how to wire into my sound system it has two 1/4" jacks and a strange round plug about the size...

If you don't know how to connect this... well we don't either because you did not tell us what your sound system is. The larger plug is what is known as a "Speakon" connector and is a fairly reliable speaker connection that is used now. For your use you will PROBABLY use either of the 1/4 inch jacks with a cable from the amp that will drive the monitor(s). If you have multiple monitors you will daisy chain them using the 1/4 inch jacks and SPEAKER rated cables creating a string of speakers with input going into one and an output from the same one to the next speaker and so on...USUALLY you will be limited to two speakers per amp output...

I can hear the music when playing dvd's on my Spectoniq dvd player, but can't hear when people talk. Can anyone help me?

Yes, I can help you. Your DVD player should have output connectors in the back of it to plug your amplifier or receiver into. If you have a Stereo system (no surround sound speakers, or front center speaker) connect the DVD Audio Cables on the back of the DVD player to the STEREO Output Jacks. If it is connected to the Left Front and Right Front jacks of the "Surround Sound" output jacks instead of Stereo is that the dialog on is sent to the CENTER channel output. If you have no center channel speaker you will not hear it.
If you have a surround sound system with two speakers in front and two speaker in back. Then you need to make a change in the Receiver Setup (Which may be set up for 3 speakers in front) so that it is set up for 2 speakers in front.
The last thing my simply be that you have a center channel front speaker that is not completely connected because of a wire falling off, etc.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Mark

Why the subwofer doesn't turn on and the speakers have the same problem.

Hello,

Check up your power cable or dcconnector whatever your device fitted
with your Bose speaker .If the connection ok increase your volume and openthe cable from the pc.
Now you will touch the stereo jack, can you can listen a sound when touch the jack.If you will not get any sound, think there is the problem in your amplifieror audio system has not any voltage. To confirm the voltage check by multimiter or can go any local Technician .If the voltage is ok, think your soundsystem defected and should go to Technician.

If you get the sound from your sound system insert jack right way to your pc andrestart your pc .After restart, check the volume icon at (bottom right corner)task menu bar. Ensure that check off onthe mute, if check off ROLL BACK audio driver. http://technet.microsoft.com/hi-in/library/bb457021%28en-us%29.aspx If the problem same as before, uninstalland install the driver again.

Rear speakers not working

Your FM tuner will only generate sound from the front sepakers. CD's, Tape, and I guess mp3 player, as well, will only play through the front speakers.
I've included a link for the manual. The audio on this rig is pretty complex. read through the info, especially pages 11,12,13, and play with the audio controls.

Speaker hook up

Shari,

It is my hope that I can help. This applies to the type of sound card on your PC.

- If you have a 2-channel sound card: Select 2 on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to tyhe front jack on your PC sound card. With this input setting, your speakers will upmix the 4-channel signal and create a center signal for your speakers.

- If you have a 4-channel sound card: Select '4' on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the colored jacks on the audio input cable to the jacks on your PC sound card, making sure to match the colors.

- If you have a '6'-channel sound card: Select '5-1' on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the colored jacks on the audio input cable to the jacks on your PC sound card, making sure to match the colors.

Your sound card is located on the back of your PC Tower.

Good luck
